I haven’t moved but I do better in warm weather.
I’m constantly cold so fall/winter is killer for me

What does a properly functioning gas furnace do that causes health problems?

We converted to gas over twenty years ago..much cleaner more efficient..I actually have less allergies!

Not much, a blue flame introduces moisture into the air. Which is better habitat for mold.....thus we have dehumidifiers and AC.

Now of course a yellow flame is a dirty flame with hydrocarbons and not what a properly functioning gas appliance will produce.

This is why gas appliances need check ups now and then. And city codes now require adequate make-up air as to not create negative pressure in the home. With Negative pressure, the appliance will not vent out properly.

Gas appliances are tested to safety standards of emissions inside and outside the home/building.

With work done properly, and an inspector that does their job, all should go well.

A hack car mechanic might make a shady exhaust repair to- not the fault of the manufacturer.

Some mold-sensitive people don't do well in the desert because of the ubiquity of air conditioning, much of which is contaminated with mold.

Personally I love being near the ocean because of the negative ions. I can wake up exhausted and twitching and in pain, but if someone (literally) drags me to the beach then I am like a nw person and can frolic in waves all day. But mold from the constant dampness is tough to avoid.

Weather patters are worth looking into. I lived in Boston for years, and the convergence of storm fronts from the west with the ocean air produces Nor'easters and bomb cyclones regularly. These extreme winter weather events drop the barometric pressure in ways that flared my symptoms terribly. I moved 100 miles inland, and the barometric effects have been minimal by comparison.

I react badly to altitude changes, too, even minor ones.

Quin: Couldn't that just be the way your body reacts to heat since you've contracted Lyme, and not at all due to the killing of borrelia? Asking because I also have bad days during and after really hot days...

I react poorly to heat but believe that is because of MCAS. Doesn't a body temperature have to be extremely high to have a bactericidal effect on Lyme?

Overall I'm better in the Summer too. Do you have problems with extreme heat- beyond what you would've had pre-Lyme?
