constant left abdominal fullness & pain

Hello! I’m (19f) new here, & this is my first post. I have tested positive for Lyme, borrelia miyamotoi, ehrlichia, bartonella, & babesia.

All of my symptoms match up with these infections, except this persistent fullness and pain in my left abdomen. I have this 100% of the time. It never has gone away since it started; the pain has worsening & improved, but the fullness has never gone away.

This has been worrying me a lot (but no, I’m not a hypochondriac), as it’s been going on for over 7 months now, and all inflammatory markers, stool & blood, are normal, making IBDs quite unlikely, & leaving behind much more sinister things to be concerned about.

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else here with Lyme &/or co have or have had this issue?

Do you have any rebound pain. If you push on it does it hurt on the way back? Wondering about your appendix its usually on the right side but can cause pain on the left I suffered abdominal pain for some time before it caused severe pain.

I have not had imaging yet, other than a chest x-ray that showed my upper left colon enlarged, & an abdominal x-ray that showed moderate constipation. I am scheduled for an MRI with oral contrast in 9 days.

I have a Lyme literate PCP. She’s not too concerned but would like to make sure this is from the infections.

I don’t really have rebound pain. Occasionally I get pain in my lower right around where my appendix would be. The MRI may catch any possible appendicitis

I had an ultrasound over a year ago when I had a similar fullness feeling. Nothing was found and it got better but this time around it’s worse & has not gone away, in recent days it’s even gotten worse. I didn’t have a transvaginal ultrasound though, just a normal pelvic + abdomen. Could a normal ultrasound miss an ovarian cyst?

I have a swollen spleen from who knows what. I have all the stuff you have, Epstein Barr commonly causes it, many other virals as well.
The spleen is the bodies defense and filtration system for dealing with all the crap we have.
Mine feels worse the more I eat, I would describe the discomfort the same as you are.
Time helps, succinic acid (amber acid) seems to help, citric acid/lemon juice seems to help.

What lab test did you use? Most people have trouble getting a positive test for much of anything. You tested positive for a lot of infections.

I used Immunosciences lab. That’s the lab the LLMD I had wanted me to use.

Thank you for the articles! I had an ultrasound of only my spleen 6 months ago & they said it was not enlarged. Idkkk

Babesia is the one that can really affect the spleen and can be life threatening. Here’s a few articles.

When you see Dr J - he palpates the abdomen -checking for swelling of the spleen - which often happens with Babesia.

Anything on the left side like implants? root canals?
Have you treated parasites?
