U.S. truckers are to strike on the 29th. For possibly 1 month. Please!! make arrangements for Meds & essentials.

They have said anyone who carries medical supplies and medicines will not strike. Also I thought it was a one or two day deal and then again a month later.

Thank you for posting this. I read it yesterday morning and bought toilet paper, paper towels, and some food yesterday.

I will order supplements and herbs soon. Not too concerned about Rx’s, as I suspected they would not interfere with that.

I don't really want to discuss this any further.. but at the same time I can't just let this be equated to a "fight for freedom". It is not.

You'd think truckers would be more concerned about their jobs inevitably becoming obsolete. How much longer before the trucks drive themselves? 5 years? Definitely less than 10 years. I think they need to "shift" their focus...

A quick internet search reveals trucker strikes demanding better COVID-19 precautionary measure for their protection, as well as a strike for climate change, also this month. Looks like trucker strikes are very popular.

I appreciate the heads up about supply chains, but let's not make this into another political thread. Just follow the rules, please.

We have been doing most of our shopping (not groceries) online (amazon) - arrives in a few days.

I wonder if I will go back to shopping in stores for most things once the pandemic is over... unlikely

You are born free after that it's just a negotiation of how much freedom you are willing to give up in order to get the things you want. Want food, place to live, healthcare. Gotta work inside the system. Could you live in the woods and off the land free of charge? Sure, but it will be shorter life. So you choose what you want and you negotiate with various parts of the system to get it.

today our guv issue new mandate: resulting in a mad dash for the store sundries and necessities... it was a 2 hr debacle and no tp! im certain its a economic ploy to boost the market.

on truckers if they had a union , there are always line jumpers who would want to feed their families and have xmas etc . can't stop the machine of commerce with a grassroots or viral hiccup . ( i mean cesar chavez has a few roads named for him but everyone i know still eats strawberries...) fear not greed is far to rampant in the hearts of mankind . i did hear of a proposed facility for homeless in LA which may eventually make being poor or not vaccinating a crime...
