My Lyme doctor is saying that I need an IV for treatment. My gallbladder was removed, because it stopped working. The ejection fraction rate was roughly 4%. The lowest is supposed to be around 35%. Anyways, I was having pain in my left side, and ending up emptying everything I ate, in extreme pain, not being able to eat properly.

After removal, six weeks infact, having trouble healing, and even eating any kind of food.

Anyways, I'm very late stage, with many co-infections. I'm wondering if people would tell me their iv costs, I could come up with an average, and try and move forward.

I can’t speak for antibiotic IV’s. But I’m doing PC IV’s and it’s around 200-400 an iv since we add stuff as I build up. Insurance won’t touch mine with a 10 foot pole since it’s not fda approved but antibiotics may be.

smartport install allowed for home ivs for a year was @220 a month back then from florida pharmacy. supplies were more check infuserve they are super helpful

Was getting a port worth it? I still have to go in for my IV’s but I’m getting poked each time. The idea of having a port always there gives me a weird feeling.

took a while to heal and even longer to get used to . my daughter will bump occasionally reminding me its there . it requires a hep flush every 4-5 weeks but if your planning on doing treatment for more than 6 months or planning to shower i'd say its worth it. i was getting my arm badly stuck 3 x a week but scar tissue and trauma was building up.

Sick kitty, I did iv rocephrin for a year through a picc line. We did the treatments ourselves at home. Insurance covered everything except the home health nurse who was absolutely worthless. She was nice but completely unnecessary. She didn't do anything that we couldn't so we stopped having her come and that saved a ton of money. The pharmacy we were initially dealing with wouldn't refill my prescription after we stopped the home health nurse (who was provided by pharmacy total racket imo) but a few calls and we found another who would refill without home health. I also couldn't tolerate the heparin so we didn't do that for the entire year and had no problems. Just flushed it regularly.

SickKitty I also did home infusion of IV Rocephin with a picc line. All of my costs were covered by insurance...including weekly visits by an RN...she would change the dressing as well do blood work.
