Tips... Going to see new dr.

Hi, Lightlife. Glad to see an update from you. Were you seeing someone at Sojourns before? I'm curious which person, since there are several there who treat Lyme, mold, etc. Did you get any benefit from the mold treatment approach? Any changes in your symptoms lately?

When I go to doctors, I take a summary document with me, which impresses LLMDs and freaks everyone else out. ;) I list recent symptoms, diagnosed conditions, medication allergies, supplements and dosages, current and recent treatments, questions that I have, recent test results, and other practitioners that I see. For a new LLMD, I also take a timeline of major symptoms and events, and copies of any lab results that are relevant.

I think it can be helpful to set the tone of the appointment by stating what you want. So in your case, I'd explain that you are feeling stuck and would like to leave the office with a clear plan with clear reasoning behind it.

I definitely understand keeping expectations very low, unfortunately. I know how much grit and faith it takes sometimes just to try a new doctor or treatment approach after having been let down (or even harmed) by others. But sometimes we find helpful angles and helpful practitioners!

Saraeli , I hope you are doing good and thanks for help. I do go to sojourns and see AC but I am not seeing improvement and it's slow trial error... or I am slow and need a push. .i heard of another dr. In this area ... Thought I'd give her a go for a different eye and push. I'd like to see what new eyes think. I am going to try not to plant the seeds. Just give the info.

I did cholestyramine twice for mold was sick and stopped. But felt ill bf so I don't know what it was doing. I've moved into another place and still have same symptoms. Maybe I'll do the binder again after but wanted another opinion.

Also I have this tingling in back that started during abart trial and never went away I I'm suspicious and my spine is so messed up.

I was almost going to see SP in CT because I think he had Bart with possible back spine involvement. But I went with another person instead because of the possible mold and she's cheaper and does more herbals than he although she does ABX. As well whatever works. She's well versed it seems.

I have most everything ready for apt. I don't yet know if I want to do a more natural or ABX but we will see what turns up.

My spine is so messed up from skull to tail and hip . It's so bad and not healthy and painful. Icing now. For months and years and I just think it's got to be part of this puzzle and I don't think it's just mold. I feel lyme or coinfections must be there.

I'm not motivated to take supps with other paractitioner as I feel like the approach was just spot treat and throw supplements. I mean I know that's the deal but I got physically repulsed research and by my supps and herbs which is weird for me but maybe another person will help me get over the jump back to treating.

All the best seeing your new doctor, you are smart to get a fresh perspective, its so easy to get entrenched with one doctor and feel its too involved to make a switch.

In terms of choosing abx or herbs, certainly let them guide you. My college age son was in a pretty bad relapse after many on/off years of tbi's and abx were the only thing on my mind and the doc said to start with herbs. I was really disappointed in some ways. didn't think it would be enough to get him improved, but relieved that as a college kid he'd have more leeway with diet etc.. and less side effects.

Sure enough, it got the job done and in 4 years he has had no relapse, takes nothing at all for tbi's anymore. You never know!

Timing is everything with these infections.
