Tis the season, a non-health holiday thread, we usually have one

X-mass Eve is one week from tomorrow morning.

Ive never started this traditional thread here, so im starting this year and starting it early, ... since 2020........SUCKS!

If your working, I hope you have time off.

Since most wont be traveling, this is a good time to try to relax a little........or get self/home stuff done.....whatever.

Weve had a lot of seasonal movies / music links on similar threads in the past too.......The Dude did well in that department, its somewhere in our archives if you can find it ...or make a new one.

This holiday season has been different for sure. It’s just me and my mom in a new (to us) house. At first, I didn’t want to buy any indoor decorations because the house is still moldy. I am so tired of throwing away possessions.

Alas, the holiday spirit overcame me🎄.

We have a mini tree in a burlap sack decorated with red truck lights and a few metal ornaments. I found a pretty garland and a gold metal snowflake that I put on the mantle with white lights. I have colored lights draped over the metal shelving rack in the kitchen.

I’ve got a poinsetta theme going outside.

Spent way too much money around $120 and you barely even notice the decorations from the street. I wanted more lights outside, but I don’t know how to hang them. My dad always did the outside lights. I did drape some red and white lights on the edge of a bush next to the patio. Just enough that’s visible through the sliding glass door.

Guilty Confession:

I have been enjoying holiday treats regularly since Thanksgiving 2019😔. I just got some more of my favorite Christmas goodies yesterday. I like gourmet snacks around Christmas. I got some mini multigrain croissants, goat cheese with herbs, French medley olives, a pomello, and dark chocolate covered almonds.

These are actually benign compared to other really bad treats I have had all year. Hoping to turn over a new leaf next year.

WBF I live walking the dark to there’s something so peaceful about walking at night.

Have a lovely Xmas all. My son is super excited about Santa visiting to do presents drops, so lovely to see.

Friday night, we went to an outdoor Christmas drive through. They had people dressed up as characters and had different scenes. They gave us popcorn to enjoy while on the tour.. We saw the Grinch and Whoville; Bethlehem with Mary, Joseph, Jesus and live animals in the stable; the Disney princesses with their princes. Buddy the elf and his friends had a “snowball” fight that we got to participate in from the car, and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was fun. I was glad to see something outdoors that we could enjoy.

I haven't been here much lately. Still treading water per se but perhaps making some slow improvements. Able to work a tad. My business is buying at local auctions and selling online - thankful to have something I can do.

Supposed to get really cold here next few days. Possibly some snow tonight - could very well have a white Christmas.

Walking by faith- I’m envious of your weather. Yeah 30 might seem a little cool to you at night but 70 in the day oh perfect that’s beautiful. You’re not missing much - my snowblower number one wouldn’t start but snowblower number TWO did start , Removing snow From the driveway and sidewalk,is a hassle versus mowing summer lawn. I waited till it warmed up to six. Ha ha . I have a Southern friend who has a cabin in the Smokies or blue ridge area , they get Less than five inches of snow every once in a while, But of course that melts in a couple days which would be kind of cool to have for Christmas though - If you’re not driving.

Just wanted to share this video - of our Provincial Health officer reassuring the kids that Santa Claus will be delivering presents - safely .

She is such a sweetheart to think of doing this.
