Has anyone ever used IV heparin to treat babesia and if so how much?

I was not treated specifically for Babesia with heparin but while I had a picc line during my Lyme treatment I had a daily flush of the line with heparin. Since it is a blood thinner(anticoagulant) I am sure it helped the hypercoagulation that is common with babesia..I did test positive for both infections and was treated with Mepron and azithromycin for Babesia.

Thanks for letting me know. Thats how I’m doing it now. How long did it take the mepron and Zithromax to work? We’re either via iv?

I did the Mepron Zithromax combo for three months . I started feeling better early into the treatment.
They caught it early but I had periods of flares and relapses.I then transitioned to malarone by itself. That drug was easy for me to tolerate and it seemed to keep my symptoms under control. None of the drugs were IV. Rocephin was the only IV drug.

How did the rocephin work out for you? If it worked how long did it take to see results? I've been on it for about 2 months and have had some relief but not as much as I would have hoped. Well, actually I was on it for two months then had to take 2 weeks off b/c of abdominal issues from another drug. Now I've been back on it for another two months (4 months total)...

I had to quit Rocephin after seven weeks due to gallbladder issues..didn’t feel any different on it..then switched to IV Doxy for several weeks...felt the most improvement on Ceftin(oral) and that did not cause any gut issues for me luckily!
