I have had bartonella for decades now, which causes a lot of neuropsychiatric symptoms (anxiety, depression, brain fog), as well as other symtoms like fatigue and neuropathy. I have been a little over 6 months into treatment for it, with 600 mg once daily of Rifampin and 500 mg once daily of Azithromycin. I am much better than i was before, but i'm interested to know, for how long should i still treat with Rifampin? I seem to tolerate Azithromycin better and i can't get Rifabutin. I'm from northern Europe, here we don't have LLMDs and nobody takes these infections seriously. If someone has taken Rifampin daily for a year or more, i want to know, so i can reassure myself that i'm not doing more harm to myself with Rifampin. Are there any long term effects of taking Rifampin?
