Lyme Vaccine in the future???

Is there any talk of a Lyme disease vaccine in the works. Mainly for us Lyme disease sufferers, which would get our immune system to make antibodies to help fight off the Lyme bacteria. That's basically what the vaccines are doing against Covid. Can it be done for Lyme disease as well? Thanks!

But if we already have Lyme - then the vax wouldn’t work right?

It’s like getting the covid vax after you’re sick with covid

But a lyme vax would still be useful for preventative measures.

Its already been tried ...about...ten years ago. Results: people got lyme from the lyme vac. Others can fill you in on the details.

Lymerix gave Lyme-like arthritis to many of the people who tried it. The official reason for discontinuing to manufacture and offer it, however, was "insufficient demand."

Knowing how many other microbes ticks carry aside from Borrelia bergdorferi, I'm not sure how effective or in-demand a Lyme-only vaccine would be. I guess it would be nice to eliminate one nasty illness, but personally I would not bother with a vaccine unless it offered protections for all the known Borrelias as well as the common co-infections.

I think pfizer is in phase 2 trials for their lyme vaccine. It does use OspA which was the target with lymerix.

*Some* Long haulers are getting better after getting covid vaccine. One theory is they still have low level infection (like chronic lyme) and the vaccine bolsters immune response to seek and clear. So that is why Canfossi is suggesting lyme vaccine.

Good point. this is why some LLMDs prescribe the "shotgun" technique with a wide range of antibiotics, for wide range of targets. And people guessing what they have then specifically targeting on their own.......well thats just guessing most of the time..

You don't need a vaccine. You can cure Lyme in a year with a zero carb diet. Zero carb improves symptoms almost immediately. I honestly wish more people would just try it. Works like a charm. You can have french fries and ice cream again when you're better.

How is a diet alone curing Lyme disease?
