i have usually increased things one at a time and at least 4 days in between - as i find for me herx like reactions can take up to 3 days to show up ( if mild to moderate - less than a day if dose/ herx is high)
this way i get to know each new herb, supplement , medication and its effects on my body and tolerance level very well
the downside is it takes more time and patience - and we all just want to get on and get well.
if you increase everything at once - and start to have too much herx like effects and want to know what caused it and which to reduce - while keeping going with the rest as much as possible - you can end up loosing time in the overall scheme of things trying to work out what caused it and fix it by trial and error.
generally i find it hard to keep everything stable enough to know what's going on at the best of times - life often gets in the way - feeds, schedules, stress, sleep etc all effect my symptoms - so in practice its hard enough to track what caused the changes - so working to keep my changes in protocol 1 step at a time helps me to know what's going on - and in doing so helps reduce stress and frustration of not knowing.
