Will minocycline hit bart at all. Added it to my malarone, Ceftin, clindymycin, and clarithromycin. Been anxious and more head pressure. Also been spaced out like a mug. It's either the CSM or minocycline I started a couple of weeks ago.

What's CSM ? Is that similar to CSA? (Cryptolepis sanguinolenta, sida acuta, alchornea cordifolia)

Yes. Minocycline is what I used to kill bart after I found it was resistant to clarithromycin.

Quin, did you see an increase in anxiety and also spaciness. CsM is Cholystirmen

Minocycline goes to my head usually within a couple hours of taking it.
I can feel it behind my eyes and when I first went on it (years ago) I was off balance for a couple weeks.
It does a good job penetrating the blood/brain barrier - so that may be why we feel it in our head

I've been on Minocycline for awhile and have had some spaced out episodes and head tightness, pressure, gripping come out. I'm not sure if it's a result of just the Minocycline though, but I do think it could be part of the cause.

Bart herx caused a lot of toxin release, which caused fever, anxiety (adrenal stress), dark urine (bilirubin), painful diarrhea, and it smelled really bad.

Spaciness... not so much from the herx, sometimes from certain meds. Of course I slept a lot though.

Cholestyramine can cause those feelings as well, for a few different reasons. It can pull toxins (such as mycotoxins from mold) back into circulation, which you can react to. It can absorb other supplements and meds that your body might be relying on, including interfering with absorption of vitamin D. It lowers cholesterol, which can make people feel spacey, depressed, or foggy if their cholesterol becomes too low. It can constipate you, causing recirculation of toxins and a general feeling of malaise.

I don't know much about minocycline, but wanted to offer a few possibilities for how cholestyramine could be contributing to how you're feeling. Hope it passes soon!

In my experience minocycline hits bart, especially in the brain. I have had some gnarly neuro-psyche herxing from mino, It can also cause vertigo as a side effect I think.

I was wondering how much actually cholestyramine grabs onto as well. I also know that Minocycline is not the gold standard for Bart. But will a touch it? At all? From others response it seems like it does

In combo with another antibiotic -
generally Rifampin or Rifabutin.

The fluoroquinolones are apparently the best but you’re risking tendon rupture and a few other “fun things”

A macrolide paired with mino is sometimes used.

Yes - I believe LLMD MR may prescribe that combo.

Edit:
Here is one of his protocols:

azithromycin or clarithromycin) plus (doxycycline or minocycline) plus (methylene blue or oregano oil)

Thanks, the minocycline is definitely doing something I belive. My brain has not felt like this in a long time. I hope it is a herx.
