Has anyone used clotrimazole for bartonella or have any insight on it. My doc just prescribed it to me because she said studies have shown they work great for bartonella persisters and she thinks bart is my main infection. I hope that it will help
Thanks

i think he will be referring to the Zhang study that found it had some useful effect on bart persisters cells in lab experiments in-vitro - Zhang and his group were studying a number of fda approved drugs for activity against persisters as this seems to be the main mechanism making bart hard to treat - and they found traditional bart drugs were pretty poor at killing them.
study here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6628006/ - see table 1 in particular
note- single antibiotic regimes for bart are not advisable - due to its ability to form true drug resistance - unlike borrelia - so i hope you are using the clotrimazole with at least a second antibiotic - or at least discuss this with your LLMD

Cosey, has it worked well for your bartonella symptoms? How are you tolerating it?
