I got Moderna. I believe it says the brand on the vax card I received.

My husband got Pfizer - but that was February and booster (I think in May?)

Haha I know it’s such a perverse frame of mind when you or someone else gets sick in a certain way and it makes you happy because you can blame whatever symptom you were worried about on that and pretend like your worst fears aren’t coming true. I get it 100%. 😜

How are you feeling now? Is it 48 hours yet? Are you fine but just tired with back pain or do you feel relapse-y?

I had such an anxiety attack last week that I never got mine - as some of you know.

The good news is that my husband woke up yesterday with all of the symptoms I had last week. Meaning we both had/have viruses and it wasn't a Lyme relapse. So either way I'm happy I didn't do it.

So much pressure here too so I may just go for it now that I know you did it. Were you completely symptom free when you had the shot.

So nice that the practitioner was kind, a good listener and compassionate - that goes a long way but then again, you attract good energy with YOUR kindness.

No not quite symptom free - still had some pain in my left scapula area and sometimes my feet hurt mildly when I get out of bed.


But this morning and continuing through the day - my back pain has ramped up - gosh I hope it isn’t going to continue like this.

Did my immune system get triggered and now it’s ramped up?

Ugh

I kinda do feel relapse - but just the one symptom - the area of my very first lyme symptom - weird!

Girlie- Ive still not had any covid vax. My work backed off on it when they did a pole and found only 50% had not had it.

Im getting closer in thought to just going for it though. But then I think....will they find something wrong with it in five years?

I know how you feel - will we have some issues from the vax down the road ?

From everyone I've spoken to with Lyme and who had the vaccine (I checked in on many). Everyone has gone back to baseline and is ok. There have been stories stating otherwise, but not in anyone I personally know.

I agree with astro and calculman - risk vaccine vs covid and right now in the world it seems risky. I may just go for it. I don't even mind a relapse. As I think Sara said we're used to those. I'm personally worried about it crossing BB barrier and sleeping neuro symptoms/toxins waking up and moving around. Not sure I can handle that.

And I can only admit this here - I'm scared. I react to everything and am frightened of being one in millions who something does happen to.

I hope you wake up back at baseline Girlie.

It took me over 48 hrs for the full side effects to kick in and about 2-3 weeks for my symptom flare to calm down about 95% and it’s slowly gotten better as I’m just hitting the 4 week post first shot. Only advice I would’ve given myself is to try to be ok with the turbulence. There was a bit of a trauma response psychologically for going through a temporary regression.

I’m holding off on my second shot for now as I’m trying a new doctor in a week and don’t want the side effects to interfere with the appointment. I’m also not 100% sure I’ll get the second shot if I’m being honest.

I mostly feel baselined but get a headache that I’m not 100% sure about/neck tightness at base of skull which was much worse 48 hrs post shot. My cognitive/neuro symptoms and fatigue also flared hard. I’ve had a low grade lingering chest pain but my stress has also been super high lately as I’ve had to move apartments again from water damage so I don’t know.

I got the pfizer and I was about 70% before but just had some solid improvements starting a parasite protocol. At this point I mainly deal with PEM / a general lack of energy and some lingering neuro inflammation. When I push the PEM too much other symptoms become worse or show back up. Originally I was full blown CIRS/ME like symptoms and had severe depression/dysphoria/neuro pain with it. I’ve also never tested positive for Lyme despite 4 different attempts and experimenting with herbals for Lyme didn’t effect me. My case was originally mold, then bart, and now parasites. Treating parasites helped more in 1-2 months than 6 months of bart (I question if it was a player).

Thanks for the support and the tip about reporting it. I haven’t heard that before! So I’d be considered fully vaccinated for “passport” purposes even though I only had one shot?

Nope - not back to baseline.

Husband is having to “work” on my left scapula area. Sigh
The pain woke me in the middle of the night.

The thing is that where we live - we never had many cases of covid - so very very low risk.

I got it for other reasons:

To be able to travel
To not be stigmatized at work as non vaxed have to continue with the masks and get tested prior to each shift.
I still have to do that until I’ve had my booster.

Just to add some input, I got the first Pfizer two days ago. I am in remission thanks to dsf but have had a flare up of migraines due to surgery a month ago. Partially from the trauma and anesthesia and partially from not being able to be as active as I heal. Migraines are my body’s response to pretty much everything. That being said, with remission I was down to twice a month hormonal migraines.

With the shot, I have had a migraine attack but again, totally expected for me personally. No flare up of nerve pain, or any other lyme symptoms other than maybe a bit more fatigue.

I held off on the shot for a long time for reasons already shared here. It’s a very personal choice, but one I finally felt peace about after lots of prayer for guidance. Hopefully the second shot won’t be too awful. We went with Pfizer specifically because it seemed to be the slightly less symptomy mRNA one.

Chick, thanks for sharing your experience. So sorry about migraines. It sounds like you have been through a lot if your had surgery/anesthesia and then the vaccine. Very hopeful to read that you were in full remission. I hope that means you can get back there sooner.

So far today is better than yesterday - still not at baseline.
My scapula area is much better - almost at baseline - but I’m very tired today. Maybe I’m not sleeping as well since the shot.

I work tomorrow so hoping I will be at baseline by morning.

I got my 1st Moderna shot just before Christmas last year - my symptoms had a mild flare for 48-72 hours and resolved.
Got the 2nd dose 4 weeks later, 12 hrs after injection got the flu like side effects (chills, body aches, fever) and those resolved within 12-24 hours and were controlled very well with Tylenol. No flare of “Lyme” symptoms after the second dose.

I work in healthcare and anecdotally I can say that most Patients I’ve encountered over 50 have minimal to no side effects, it just seems to be the 50 and under younger folks who have stronger responses provoked. Also those who had covid before their shots seemed more likely to report a temporary side effect.
