Has anyone tried this HIV drug? Someone posted a success story on the babesia page on Fb so apparently there is at least one LLMD trialing it on Lyme patients.

It was one of the better performing Bart drugs for the stationary form in the big Bart study and has strong anti-babesia effects as well.

There was a published case report of a patient taking this for HIV/AIDS who had a bart flare, so be aware that it could potentially do that and you may need a second drug to kill the active form.

Quin- Thanks for the reply. Yeah this person combined it with Biaxin to go after the log phase. I think Kaletra is a bit too serious of a drug though so I enrolled in Patterson's covid long-hauler program to test my cytokines. Never had covid but Lymies can enroll as well. So far a few Lymies are having success on the treatment but it remains to be seen if that will continue once they're off the treatment.

They blame the bartonella growth on "immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome" but I'm kinda skeptical since bartonella flares also happen with disulfiram and other things.

I got a major bart flare from depakote. I was taking biaxin, but the bartonella was resistant to it and I had to switch to minocycline.

"Kaletra is a bit too serious of a drug" - What side effects are people experiencing?

I probably would have tried kaletra next, if depakote+minocin hadn't worked.

Honestly I don't know much about Kaletra to say. Just saw a bunch of warnings.

Patterson's treatment doesn't just lower cytokines that are elevated. It actually removes monocytes that have dead organisms. With Covid these monocytes don't die off like they're supposed to and the immune system reacts to the spike proteins. Not sure if it's the same with Lyme but it's possible. DSF flaring Bart may not be just because borreloa is dying off. That seems too simplistic. I had SOT and flared immediately Bart and babs and I seriously doubt it was because so much borrelia died right away. It doesn't work that way.

I didn't have that happen with covid. Most of the inflammation stopped after 2 or 3 days taking mepron. The problem I had with covid was there was some tiny amount of virus hiding somewhere and it would relapse when I stopped the mepron.

I haven't had a relapse of bartonella symptoms in several months, even though I still have symptoms of borrelia. I don't think bart necessarily hides with the borrelia. If it did, it would have been much harder to kill the bart. The theory that killing borrelia releases the bart is too simplistic.
