Hi everyone,

I'm getting my first dose of Pfizer at 1:00pm EST.

Numbers are rising and I can't live like this any longer. Too risky.

I react to almost everything so hope all goes well. The mind is a powerful thing - already nervous.

Thanks for all the support you have given. Going to do a mediation before shot and drink tons of water. I'll update you guys over the next few days.

Thank you Sara! I just copied and pasted all of the advice and well wishes from you kind souls (taken from my previous thread). I have them on one paper and am bringing it with me.

Your supportive advice will literally be right there with me smile

I am the same as you. I have severe reactions to anything that has to do with the immune system. Best wishes to you. Keep us posted please. I am very reluctant to get the vaccine until I can get something to help with mast cell reactions.

Now I am waiting for my second shot appt.
I am still wearing my mask at work and in public.
And I’m not the only one.

DMW, hard to believe anyone was more reluctant that I was. LOL. I guess we all are, for different reasons. I react to everything but so far so good.

Woman who administered shot was so sweet and sat with me. Actual shot: Never felt a thing.

I received the Pfizer vaccine in a medical facility with a PA right there. about ten minutes after I could feel a slight head ache. It's completely gone now. Then I felt a slight sensation in my gums (nerves?). Weird but tolerable and only lasted a minute. Went home and just rested, felt tired but not overly tired -kind of odd. I had one bout of trembling in legs/arms. I've gotten this in the past. It was less than a minute and then it was over. My main symptom was nausea and fatigue, but again fine.

Slept ten hours! This morning my arm is mildly sore but barely noticeable. I have a mild pain in left knee that I would get whenever I would try to start jogging again. Weird that's there. Other than that, so far so good. I hope this is it until the second dose but time will tell.

I'm extremely relieved to have gotten it. I'm in a populated city and my husband and son are around a lot of people with work/school.

Girlie, when is your second? How are you feeling overall? Any relapse of note? It's smart to keep wearing your mask. I'm going to do that when indoors even when fully vaccinated. Outdoors I'm fine unmasked.

I'll keep you posted and please do the same. Feel good everyone.

According to my son it will be 6 weeks from my first. I had thought it was 4 weeks.

I had my first on July 17 - so I have a while to go which means I have to continue wearing my mask for several more weeks.
That’s fine with me.

I have been fine since the shot (after the fatigue I experienced shortly after the shot.

Girlie, that is smart to wait six weeks.

Here Pfizer is three weeks between first and second dose, and Moderna is four weeks.

We've also extended the validity of our vaccine pass to 365 days - vs six months. Another good sign.

You are allowed to wait up to seven weeks/42 days in between shots. I've been reading how it's better to space them out; less side effects and vaccine lasts longer. I'm going to be five to six weeks because I need to take care of my mother-in-law post surgery and want to be ok dropping my son off at school.

So happy hear you. haven't had any other symptoms - YAY.

Thanks. I'm proud of us too. It's nice to have nice people administering.

How long were you tired? And I realize we're all different.

I'm so tired. The positive is that it feels different than LD/EBV tired. I hate that - it's like my entire being runs out of gas. This feels like my body is still normal but fatigue is there. I hope that makes sense. Slept ten hours again and going to nap in a bit. At 1:00pm I'll be at 48 hours post shot.

I’m trying to remember - I think my fatigue came on a couple days after the vax. And I think it was a good 4 days of quite bad fatigue and then a few more days of lesser fatigue.

Thank you Girlie. I do remember it took you like a week and that you were too tired on day three to go to work.

My husband asked "Want to go for a walk soon?" I laughed. I walk every day but just not up to it.

But hey, for us this is great - and it means body mounting immunity. Honestly I've had herxes so much worse.

Hi - and hi to everyone else.

Thanks for checking in. I meant to update you guys.

I'm good but I still have a headache and today is day six. It's also not all the time. It's tolerable and I don't even take anything for it but it's annoying. I'm also still very tired but I haven't needed to nap or anything. I just go to sleep early.

I'm hoping my Lyme doctor can offer some support while my body works things out.

I had Covid in March 2020 so my guess is that my first shot was like a booster, which is stronger. But all in all I'm doing much better than I thought I would. I just want to get to baseline. Haven't taken my daily walks since last Tuesday. Also pretty hot here.

I'm still very relieved to have gotten it. Thanks again.

Yay! Yeah my brother snd his family got covid. They said first shot was worse for them and second was not a big deal. So hopefully that means the worst is passed!

Im finally going to take the plunge with the first Moderna vax thurs afternoon.

Part of me still says dont do it since its only been a one year long "experiment".....oh well, here goes nothing.

Scheduled at a pharmacy since the clinics were clearly way to much of a hassle or ran out already or only wanted to see their clientele (guess thats understandable) .

I was so anxious over this that I worked myself up. I didn't want to do it but I am beyond relieved that I did.

Yesterday was one week and today I'm almost back at baseline. I am highly sensitive, react to everything, and I knew it would take me a bit longer. It was all tolerable. I had headache for almost a week and lots of fatigue. My Lyme doctor said is inflammation/body fighting.

You will do great. Honestly I wish I did it in May or June. As far as 'experiment' millions of shots have been given. Not sure where you live but for us we wouldn't have been able to do anything and my son wouldn't be allowed to go to in person school. He also has LD and he did great with the vaccine. In some way he says he feels better. My lyme doctor said some patients report feeling better after. Good luck and please let us know how you do.
