FYI: There are some reports recently that people with Covid have had no response to some Edenbridge brand Ivermectin obtained from local US pharmacies. These people switched to animal ivermectin and responded very well. There is some investigation and testing going on to determine whether some of the Ivermectin being prescribed is fake. Currently waiting for test results to come back. So far, I've only heard of reports re: this one brand. One doctor believes this could be happening in an effort to discredit Ivermectin.
If you Google how Ivermectin is to be taken, every link on the first page tells you to take it on an empty stomach away from food. The literature specifically states "ivermectin following a high-fat meal resulted in an approximate 2.5
fold increase in bioavailability." That is directly from the package insert. There is definitely a misinformation campaign out there and its coming from our government and the companies they control like Twitter, Google, Facebook, and Youtube.
With that being said, ivermectin absorption is highly variable per patient. People with chronic inflammation basically have zero absorption because they are often deficient in the proteins that carry it (i.e. albumin). People with GI disorders can have lower absorption as well. Using the injectable did give good blood levels but it is not approved for use in humans.
