Visual Distortions

I just experienced this just now and another time recently on my phone. Looking at my phone, the screen looks slanted or wavy. I remember this happening years ago when I was first aware of mold but was still working and living in my parents’ house. This is the first time I remember it happening since then.

Anybody else ever had this? What did you attribute it to?

WBF you don't happen to have a Samsung phone do you? Some brands like Samsung have this.

People reported seeing something wavy or slanted and then on closer inspection it seems like nothing is there.

Turned out to be an issue with the screen.

Not saying it can't be a medical thing by the way.

One of my first symptoms when I got truly ill was central serous chorioretinopathy. (Also called central serous retinopathy.) It's a pocket of fluid that distorts the retina. There's some undefined connection to Bartonella, but it's common in people who produce a lot of cortisol or spikes in cortisol. The distorted retina can make straight lines appear wavy, or make text appear like it's rolling over a bump as your eye passes over it. The fluid can increase and decrease day to day, so it's not always the same exact distortion shape or degree of distortion. If you look at something bright and then look at a plain wall and then blink a few times, it's normal to see the shape of the bright light for a minute or so, but if you have CSCR, then there will be a bit of a shape there, even when you have not just looked at a bright light. For a lot of people, this just goes away on its own. Over time, though, the blood vessels can grow over the area, creating permanent retinal damage and vision loss, like a grey spot in your central vision. This is correctable to some degree with laser surgery. An Optimap scan (which many ophthalmologist offer) or a retinal specialist's exam can diagnose this.

Not sure if this is what you are describing or not! But I thought I'd share, just in case.

If there's any chance that this is what you have, then do NOT take any form of steroid, especially corticosteroids, even something mild like putting hydrocortisone cream on a rash. It can increase the fluid significantly and risk your vision further, or even the retina itself.
