i used it for about 4 weeks i think during a herbal gut treatment aimed at dysbiosis - this was before i figured out lyme/bart was at the root of my gut issues.

it increased the herx like effects of the herbs dramatically - i had some benefit for around a month afterwards - but felt so rough from the herx that it took weeks to recover and i hardly noticed the improvement in bart symptoms at the time

recently i have been reading extensively in the scientific papers and accounts from LLMD's on biofilm - since comming to understand biofilms in chronic infection better - i do agree that this feature is critical to address in long term infection - but i think its a long term treatment proposition and only useful alongside strong antimicrobials / abx - if used on its own it will not kill spirochetes/bacteria - only help break up the colonies which will then be free to settle elsewhere.

since it is long term treatment - several MD's use a pulse approach to both the abx/ antimicrobials and the biofilm agents - with breaks to allow the host to manage the herx like reactions - and basically keep going until there are no more herx reactions- and then a bit longer for good measure.

my guess is the advice against long term use will be based on the mineral chelating effects of EDTA - in that the concern would be that long continued use might deplete needed minerals / metals from the body - but i have not looked into the veracity of that theory.

yep - that is an issue - if not taken as part of a larger well designed approach - you simply flare symptoms for no long term gain

i took 3 capsules of interphase plus per day - but alongside high doses of antimicrobial herbs that were already causing a fair degree of herx like reactions - sida, berberine herbs, cryptolepis, allicin, - and some other biofilms agents like nattokinase and NAC - interphase plus increased this reaction around 2x

i had to take a day off the interphase now and then to get through it

the EDTA is a metal chelator - and biofilms typically include metal ions in their structure - which is why its in the formula - as by removing the metal ions the biofilms are weakened.

i don't think the doses of EDTA in the product are very large - so i doubt its much of a concern for the kidney - i think they make a product without it as some people find the one with it too strong

if you don't fancy it there are many other products that have antibiofilm properties
-proteolytic enzymes
-essential oils
-xylitol and other sugar alcohols
-chorum sensing disrupters - like garlic etc

a combination of these is best - each attacking biofilms from different angles / mechanisms
but you may well have to build up gradually as typically these are used alongside antimicrobials ( not on their own) and tend to make herx reactions much stronger

the most research with Tick born infections is probably on oregano
-cinnamon
-clove
-and sometimes peppermint get mentions

i have seen papers on antimicrobial effects of rosemary and thyme essential oils also
( in reality probably all of them have some effect )
