Impetigo and tick borne illness

I have impetigo, and because of my autoimmune disease ( tick borne illness) it’s resistant to antibiotics, not even herbal medicines are working. I’m going to try Ozone Therapy on Tuesday as it’s my last chance to get better. I been experiencing skin issues, and the infection must be in my gut, kidney , mouth , heart and brain now . For over 3 weeks trying to treat it but won’t go away. Has anyone else here dealt with impetigo with Lyme? It’s much more scarier than Lyme . I’m scared of it killing me. Doctors completely useless in helping me.

Did your doctor culture fluid from a sore to see which antibiotics it's vulnerable to? Which things have you tried so far?

So sorry you are dealing with this. My child had a MRSA infection for months, and I know how scary and frustrating it can be.

Why would the doctors give me antibiotics if I weren’t diagnosed? Obviously I was diagnosed.

Despair, many folks on the forum have had to self-diagnose and self-treat with antibiotics they buy online, so it would not be unheard of here for someone to be self-treating with antibiotics, with no doctor involvement. I'm so sorry that your doctors have not been more helpful for you!

Did they do a culture of the bacteria to test which antibiotics might work? Were all the possibilities tried? When my child had MRSA, her doctor cultured the fluid and found that the only antibiotics that affected the bacteria were types that would require hospitalization for the duration of treatment because of how dangerous the antibiotics were. Still, it was nice to know there was an option in case the things we were trying didn't work.

If the infection is in your bloodstream, then are you able to access emergency care right away? Septic shock is something that only a hospital can treat, as far as I know, and sounds like a true emergency. I wish I had more options to suggest!

Saraeli, may I ask what you were using instead of the antibiotic option?

BECAUSE A DOCTOR DIAGMISED ME? A DOCTOR . If you actually read the comments in here you’d know this. You think you’re being helpful by questioning me but being insulting. If you want to know so badly go ask my doctor for my medical file and blood work and stuff.

Brandiwine, my child's MRSA infection remained a skin infection, thank goodness, but came and went for several months while we tried all different things - manuka honey, bleach baths, compresses, tea tree oil, mupirocin ointment, corn starch (to keep the area absolutely dry), topical probiotic spray, etc. The boils were painful and enormous, and difficult to keep clean and dry because they were on her buttocks. I think everything I mentioned helped to some degree, but keeping the area dry seemed to be the most helpful. MRSA lives in the normal flora of the nasal passages of 2% of people, so everyone in the household had to treat their nasal passages with mupirocin ointment twice per day for a week, plus of course only single-use towels, fully sanitizing all laundry, cleaning the bathroom after every use, etc. Exhausting!
