So my doc was listening to a lot of my problems and suggested I get a hold of carbon dioxide detector. I’m seeing a large range in prices and not sure which ones are quality detectors and which are scams. Any of you guys know? I really don’t want to have to spent a ton of money on this, but don’t want a false sense of security if it really is a problem.

That’s a good idea to check consumer reports. I hadn’t thought to check there.

Lol don’t worry, I don’t have an excuse like my brain being somewhere in the Bahamas, and when my doc was like have you checked the carbon dioxide, I was like monoxide? He was like no, dioxide 😜. So I did the same thing.

hello bailey it is so important to keep window open because if you breath and you don't do the window open then you get the bad symptoms. it is for the fresh air. in all the schools they now say, they need fresh air. so agifia say, why not need before? haha 🙊

I used an earlier version of this one that was a bit cheaper.

It did have a low pitching noise that I hated, so I didn’t have it connected all the time. But it was very valuable to see how quickly CO2 increased in my small office room, so I started opening the windows a lot more often after that.

High CO2 leads to lower concentration and other things. By measuring it you can see if you need to add more plants or open windows more often. We bought it mostly to measure VOC.

Thanks sleep! Yeah I did look at that one. It was on the more expensive side. I finally found these reviews which were more helpful. I really just wanted to make sure there was a third parrot testing accuracy.

Yes, scientists agree, testing with three parrots is better than testing with just two!

(Of course, it's obvious what you meant, but "third parrot" was pretty funny.)

So apparently my room had very high co2. At points it was reading 1300 ppm, though it went down when I did more dusting around its area. After dusting it seemed to go between 800-1000.

Dad cracked a window which did great things for the co2 reading and the air feels much better but it did bad things to my lungs. They’re irritated the way they usually get when my Hepa filter isn’t working well enough. *sighs* so now I’m not sure if I need to buy a bigger filter. Dad doesn’t believe the hepa filter is needed and doesn’t want to try not having the window cracked all the time… and keeps telling me to see if the lung issues just go away 🤦🏻‍♀️

Clean the house/apartment weekly, a lot of plants that help to clean the air, daily airing of house/apartment, and an air purifier that run 24/7 in our living room is what we did to improve the air quality.

Thanks sleepy! Yeah I have a winix 5500. Actually I have 2 winix 5500 one upstairs and one downstairs. I wasn’t still having trouble till I upgraded from the carbon mesh sheets to the chunky carbon grain filters. It’s why I still wonder if I need to go for a filter than comes with like 18 qbs of carbon and a hyper hepa filter… also if a regular hepa hospital grade filter is better than a hyper hepa filter.

All of that is very expensive.
