Can I buy methylene blue without a prescription?

I read how methylene blue is effective for bartonella. Do I need a prescription for it or can I go out and buy it?

I think its pretty hard to find it. You can get on the methylene blue bartonella FB group and try to source. I have used infuserve compounding pharmacy in Florida USA. Hopkinton is the other one i know of that makes it but the people i have talked to their seem incompetent. They also only allowed my doc to prescribe 200 mg per day. In my opinion if you want to kill some bart with MB you gotta be taking at least 400 mg per day combined with other drugs.

I remember looking into it when I was on Dapsone because it can cause methglobanemia

I spelled it wrong - will look it up tomorrow.

its not a drug in common use any more ( first synthetic antibiotic ever made ) and as a result its only available for pharmaceutical use as a compounded medication from compounding pharmacies

other sources selling it - eg in pure powder form will not be able to sell it as a medication without a prescription - hence they will always say its not for human consumption or some other disclaimer - even if it is pharmaceutical grade - which is rarely made clear for the above reasons.

there do seem to be liquid forms avavalble from a few places that look like pharma grade ( always check because the manufacturing process can cause heavy metals to be in the end product if its not pharma grade)
however if you check the dose per ml of the liquid products - they are all too weak to be of any real use unless you take something like a bottle per day. Most LLMD's that use it recommend in the region of 100mg per day as an adjunct to other antibiotic combo's

I really think u have to be careful about where you source it. Don't buy from amazon and make sure it's pharma grade.
