Houttuynia for Bart?

Hi.

I've been dealing with Bartonella for 7 years now and i've seen there is a doctor named James Schaller that says HH works for Bartonella but my question is... How does he know that? There is any test done In Vitro to confirm that or a study? I can't find any evidence.

There is anyone that cured it using houttuynia?

i think its based on clinical use by a Dr Zhang in New York - rather than in-vitro studies

in-vitro studies are in any case not very useful for these difficult to treat infections

i think Buhner referenced his recommendation of its use to Zhangs use of it also - but also via a lot of houttuynia's effects in the body - to cytokines and chemokines for instance

Houttuynia won't by itself kill off Bart. I have Babesia, Bart, Lyme, and Ehlrichosis. I have found that Woodland Essence Houttuynia and JK Plus (Japanese Knotweed, Cat's Claw, Cordyceps, Eleuthero, and Licorice Root) have been slowly healing these co-infections including Bart. I also notice that when I take American Biotech Labs - Silver Biotics it hits Bart pretty hard (and also Babesia, Lyme, and Ehlrichosis). When I start to get up to about 3 teaspoons a day it kicks Bart (and the other co-infections that I have) awful hard. It gives me an intense herx if I go too fast upping the dosage (I herx really easily). Read the reviews on Amazon by people with Lyme who take the Silver Biotics (link below).

Also exercising if you can even if can only do a few minutes helps to combat Bart.

Another product I have personally found that works very good against Bart (and my other co-infections) is P73 Wild Oil of Oregano.

Also I can't vouch for this personally, but I have been doing some research and apparently cinnamon oil can completely remove Bart and biofilms from the body according to some long term Bart sufferers who claim they were completed cured in as little as a few weeks (it sounds almost too good to be true but I will keep an open mind). I am going to try it in the near future and see if it works. ONE THING I HAVE READ IS WHEN TAKING CINNAMON OIL CONSULT WITH A EXPERT HERBALIST IF YOU ARE ALSO TAKING OTHER HERBS, CINNAMON OIL MAY CAUSE AN INTERACTION WITH OTHER HERBS. battler thanks for the information

could you give a little more detail on your experience with the P73 oil of oregano

-how much did you start with ?

-how much did you find you needed for effective dose for bart?

-how did you take it - diluted in a carrier oil or food?

-did you take it continuously - or pulsed eg week on week off ?

-how long did you find it took for benefits to be felt?

-did you have any adverse effects apart from herx like symptoms - like gut issues ( i note many find it v hard on the gut )

I used Houttuynia to heal my long-standing Bart infection. For me, it made all the difference- although I was using other herbs as well, so I didn't use it as a stand-alone treatment. But, every time I started it (I had to restart a few times due to intense herxing), I would have an increase in my Bart-specific symptoms, so I know it was hitting my Bart infection hard.

I took Houttuynia for over 1.5 years. I did find it to be somewhat effective against Bartonella in that it led to herxes followed by improvements. Also, as Garzie noted it is supposed to help with inflammatory cytokines and I did feel some relief from certain Bartonella symptoms while on it.

On the flip side, I personally had difficulty tolerating Houttuynia due to herxes, and probably more significantly, non-herx side effects that never went away. As time wore on I became increasingly intolerant of it and could only take tiny doses. I was never able to take it in anything resembling a "full dose" so I'm not sure if it could have worked to fully put Bart in remission or not. I took it in combo with various Buhner herbs but only Japanese Knotweed all the way through the whole time.

It definitely hits Bart. I got Bart marks last year after starting Hottunyia and Cryptolepsis. I've not heard about it healing many people's infections. That said, as evidenced above, there are some really effective experiences with it. So who knows how it will work for yourself until you try it? It's worth a shot considering it's not expensive. At worst, it can be an adjunct in a more comprehensive protocol.

Home brew HH tea is pretty wicked stuff ...........after about 1 to 1.5 weeks, when your not expecting it .....hang on.

Wow! Uhm, thank you!! That was always my intention, but, of course, ya just never know! But, that why I kind of put my whole life into posts, how could I know who it might help?

Lol! Astroman, yep! It can really hit se people hard! I was one of those and learned to dilute it quickly! It took a while for me to build up to a full dose, bit there was no doubt it was working the whole time!

Hey Rekson, my main problem is Bartonella with severe brain fog and am also on Houttynia drops.

I am thinking of seeing Dr Schaller and he has very polarized mixed reviews, how is your treatment journey so far if you don't mind sharing? Are you doing Dapsone with him?

i also found houttuynia drove strong and long lasting herxes with a bit of a delayed action

i had to start on a low dose- i think around 1ml a day of 1:5 tincture and work up to around 13ml a day

its not as potent as sida or Cryptolepis - which drive 2-3x the herx for me at the same dose - but seems to do something different specific to bart so i stuck with it

Doxycycline + Rifampin + liposomal oregano, clove & cinnamon.
Found a product by Doctor Indpired Formulations.
This looks like one of the top tier treatments from treatlyme.org.
Let’s see how it goes.
My nerve pain is excruciating and now affecting both sides sciatica and kidneys during my period. After 1-3 weeks it goes away.
I’ll let you guys know if it’s successful, I think I’m supposed to stay on it for a few months.

How are you tolerating rifampin?
I just got diagnosed with all 4 strains that I think I had forever. He prescribed Rifampin/Azithromycin and Methylene Blue??
