MRT food sensitivity test?

Has anyone done the mrt food sensitivities test and LEAP diet? Curious if it’s worth the cost and if it actually works.

Yes I did this about five years ago. How beneficial it is will differ person to person.

In my case it resulted in health improvements that are well, a big deal. These improvements could be felt and even later on tested / found to be beneficial via conventional medicine testing. It’s more likely to benefit people that have some sort of autoimmune going on, With or without gut issues.

Now of course there will be some people that say it didn’t do anything. OK ...and why is that bad? At least they found out food is not a problem for them so they can check that off the list!

What’s the cost? I looked into this after Astroman did it and reported reversing some of his thyroid antibodies with it and found the pricing varies.

I contacted the company directly and was quoted a much higher price than Astroman paid. I think it was over $700. Then, I contacted a nearby nutritionist I know who recovered from Lyme and found out she offers it. She quoted me $399 for the test and $75 for the meeting and interpretation. That was a few years ago now.

Look for LEAP certified nutritionists online a check around for pricing.

I chose not to do it, because I didn’t believe I would be disciplined enough to follow the diet. I also have had severe hardship for years now (still) in regards to safe housing, Logistically and financially, I just haven’t been able to put this to action. It’s still on my list of options if my life circumstances change.

Yes, back then I paid $350 out of pocket for the test which was provided by a nutritionist whos time/appt was covered by my insurance. I also had to pay $25 at a blood draw place (Leap/MRT provided a list) since the test itself was not insurance covered.

I initially stopped eating all of the noted offending foods per the nutritionist (amber and red). Then gradually added a few amber colored ones only on occasion. The worse of the bad ones (red), which were gluten and corn I permanently left out of my diet, which was noticeably heath rewarding - halting my 25 year Hashimotos progression, slowly reversing some of it. Its still slowly reversing (less thy med every year now). My gut is much happier too.

I was quoted $545 from a nutritionist when I contacted the company. It’s normally $700.
I’ve done a lot of different elimination diets/aip/gaps. I’ve seen gains with each but it would be nice to know exactly what foods bother me and which ones don’t. Currently I feel like I can’t eat anything.

Welcome to inflation...still at least its not $700(wow).

Remember some foods that disrupt long term health may not have very noticeable symptoms while eating them....but can lay the foundation for long term gut and immune misery.

I think you can get a better price. I found the lady I had met on this website and contacted her and asked if she did LEAP MRT testing. https://www.healthprofs.com/us/nutritionists-dietitians

If you got a recommendation directly from the company, I would expect them to cost more.

Just a suggestion. You might find other options near you who offer the testing.
