Immunity if bit again?

I vote for.... it is an impossible question to answer because every person is differrent and every tick is different.

But given what you know now your treatment after a second bite will be much more aggressive in the first 60 days than your first bite, which most likely went to chronic infection stage.

I get bitten quite often so I'm also very concerned about this. I always remove ticks w a remover tool branded "the tick twister", then cover area w alcohol pad, androdraphis tincture, and a tegaderm bandage.. then send tick to ticklab.org for testing (free for PA residents).

I think previous exposure to borrelia has gotta be beneficial, but as quin says ticks can transmit other pathogens as well.

So far I haven't had any issues w new tick bites.. even ones attached 24+ hrs, positive for borrelia, babesia, and/or anaplasma.

I take astragalus tincture for up to 1 month after a bite, at least once a day (3x a day seems to give me joint pain). If tick tests positive I may add Japanese knotweed, Chinese skullcap, other herbs I still have.

If I were to experience new symptoms I would consider abx.. would need to know for certain that new symptoms are from new bite before getting too heavy into treatment.

Thank you for the responses. I was diagnosed 3 years ago after being hospitalized for 4 days trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I had a tick in my back yesterday. My wife used a tick tool but it broke up anyways. I'm heading to the doctor now to see if they can tell if it is all out or not.

Get a few weeks of doxy while you’re there - don’t mess around - knock it out now…

Our tool is the Tick Nipper but it didn't work. We even watched a You Tube video on how to use it before we attempted to do so. It looked easy on the video but they only used it on pets.

I have been suffering from chronic Lyme disease since 2013 and I am currently working with a viomagnetic pair therapist. Part of the therapy in the beginning is to undergo muscle testing for various infections. My therapist was able to pick up these multiple infections as well as the fact that this was probably my third tick bite.

This means that my original tick bite would have been around the age of five according to the muscle test. I am now 54 years of age. I believe that those of us who are especially middle-aged may have been bitten by a tick that broke the camels back so to speak. I believe that we were either bitten by a mosquito carrying infections or ticks caring infections and our immune system‘s simply gave way and couldn’t tolerate any more pathogens.

Further evidence that I have been dealing with pathogens that my immune system could not clear is that I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis in my 20s and had bouts of depression there after. As a child my mom said I was always the kid who didn’t get sick often but when I did became quite L which leads me to believe that my struggling immune system due to these pathogens was behind the severity of what ever I was suffering from.

In short guy whole heartedly agree with traveler. In retrospect I believe I probably was struggling with infections that were never diagnosed..

My practitioner tells me that her clients are reinfected all of the time. The type and severity of how their symptoms manifest though is very individual from what I can gather.

I read these posts almost every day and think of you all. I hope and pray that each of us reaches a state of health. I am so grateful for each one of you and for all of your contributions.

Unfortunately I have gained an appreciation for other insects that carry infection. My practitioner is always asking me if I believe I have been bit again by a mosquito, tick or spider. She has treated me for reinfection by a spider for Mycoplasma and Borelia. Additionally many who have Lyme disease and the usual talked about infections are also infected with west Nile virus.

He's the best!! In Franklin Tn. Seems, I 'm tick bait in spring and spider bait in fall. I avoid tall grass and bushes like the plague. same for horseflies, deerflies and Mosquitos. (How you doing Girlie?)

There is no question in my mind that some of us are more genetically susceptible to being insect bait. In fact 23 and me even indicates so with a genetic marker indicating if you are more likely to be bitten than others by an insect. Given this I also avoid areas where these buggers are more likely to be lurking.

i recall when mountain biking with friends - some of us would get eaten alive by midges and things - and others not touched

it would not surprise me at all if bacterial like bartonella, lyme etc cause their hosts to secrete chemicals that attract biting things - as this would be an evolutionary advantage to the survival of the disease

we already know that lyme causes ticks to live longer, quest further, and bite more hosts

I have so many questions regarding this illness

Why do people worth more exposure, get bitten and don’t contract LD?
Why do so many LD patients have autoimmune conditions?
Why was I able to recover from COVID omicron untaxed but have been struggling to overcome LD?

I guess there might be way more than just the usual package which is why certain protocols work for some and they don't for others. Or, perhaps, certain strains can be resistant to antibiotics, even though some LLMDs claim it's not actual resistance but persistence. Also, it's not like Borrelia itself has been recognized long time go - Willy Burgdorfer first isolated it in 1982. Wouldn't be surprised if in a decade or two someone discovers, that on top of ehrlichia, anaplasma, babs, bart, bb there's also hellnessia, evilnella and destroyella that make it harder to eradicate Lyme.
