Eczema

I know eczema can flare up from high histamines. Have you had an issue with them before? It might be helpful to eliminate some high histamine foods and see if that helps reduce the inflammation. This can be dairy, alcohol, wheat, fermented foods and beverages, avocados, bone broth, etc.

For a topical treatment, you can try activated charcoal and castor oil. You can also add a couple soothing drinks of peppermint or rosemary oil. Mix into a paste and apply on the area for at least 10 minutes. Wipe it off using coconut oil (it helps remove the charcoal).
A similar paste made from bentonite clay can be very helpful too.

Is it common to have an eczema outbreak in two different spots at the same time? You sure its not fungal?

Dcd how would you know if it is a fungal infection and what would the treatment for that be? Thanks again for both of your help!

I developed fungal spots over ten years ago when I had been using the same shower towel for too long.
It went away with treatment and washing the towel..😄

My sister gets eczema in the summer from grass and pollen. It does sort of look like eczema, but I am not sure.
I would suspect high histamine. I get a rash on my throat and chest when I get allergy overload.

I don't use cortisone cream because it is a steroid, but some of my family that has really bad eczema have to use it because it is the only thing that helps.

On the other hand, if the cortisone cream is not helping at all, it might mean that it is a fungal rash.

I just looked at the pictures. When you said elbows, I was thinking the outer elbow, which is where eczema and psoriasis usually get. This looks like the inside of the elbow and is solid pink like a rash. Zooming in, it looks like possibly tiny bumps present. It looks a lot like heat rash to me. Last summer, I suffered horribly with prolific and repeated heat rashes. Inside of elbows was one of the affected areas.

The only time I ever had heat rash before that was on my chest, which was the other area you mentioned.

What helped me with the itching and pain was taking 1/2 Zyrtec every 12 hours (instead of a whole one every 24 hours). Important to stay consistent so it stays in your system. The dermatologist gave me a Rx for Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream, which is a topical steroid.

A couple months ago, I started to get the beginnings of a heat rash again. I washed the skin with cold water and then poured Bragg’s apple cider vinegar on a washcloth and applied the vinegar. The vinegar helped with the stinging and itching.

I determined the cause in my case was getting overheated at night, so now I sleep with very little clothing and a muslin cloth for cover, which is cool and breathable.

Keep your chest uncovered and try not to bend your elbows so the skin doesn’t touch until it clears up. Stay cool in air conditioning whenever possible.

Either one would eventually create flaky skin,, Not just red inflamed skin.

So maybe it’s some other type of rash, maybe even a food intolerance?

If it does eventually dry and flake then you know it could be either eczema or Candida fungal.

This can be is a reaction to something but sometimes it is hard to tell what.
What I find good for this until can figure out what it is causing it is aloe Vera, but particularly the earth’s daughter brand pure and natural on amazon. $10.

Another thing to mention is avoiding fluoride - particularly the dental treatments in offices.

Similar to chlorine.
Also I noticed a while back that I would get a rash on my legs until I realized I need to change my shower filter. This tells me I need to change the filter which I try to do every month or so. Water usually is treated with high quantities of chlorine and other things with can be highly reactive if one is sensitive. I would also avoid chorine swimming pools.
I use the new wave enviro shower filter. It is inserted easily between your normal shower head. $35.
They also have a kitchen faucet filter as well which helps remove chlorine from drinking water.

For even more protection I recommend the Megahome Countertop distiller. $300. Takes 4 1/2 hours to make 1 gallon of distilled water. Better than carrying plastic jugs. You can pair it with a century 12 hour mechanical timer so it stops before running dry which is better for it.
