ILADS doctor very bad visit for parasites

I just saw an ILADS doctor specifically for help with three parasites and she was unwilling to write anti parasitic prescriptions since the only evidence I had was from my lyme clinic that found these parasites through energetic testing.

I told her parasite testing is notoriously horrible and can produce a lot of false negatives so even if I was tested through conventional methods it could be a witch hunt and a waste of money. SO I’m so frustrated that she wouldn’t’ even hear me out based on my energetic testing or listen to what my symptoms were.

She also said for these chronic parasites (two of them were from the trypanosoma family and one from the schistosoma family) they are better left off untreated because once treat them they it can result in death?? I told her if she’s talking about parasite die off, the proper binders need to be in place to mop up these toxins from parasite die off and she was like yea.... I don’t do that.

I feel like I just completely wasted two months of my life waiting to get into this doctor’s office only to find out she wouldn’t treat me. I thought ILADS members were supposed to be aware and compassionate towards lyme patients with parasites...

I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m leaning towards Cowden’s herbals but I was hoping to get something stronger with the anti parasitic medications.

Does anyone have any recommendations of how I can get treatment for these parasites that I can’t prove I have other than through my energetic testing??

No MD should be prescribing medication based on energy testing

I personally would rethink if parasites are your issue if you're basing this solely on energy testing. Carlnpa has some posts on his experiences with various over the counter animal dewormers if you search his name. But you'd need to know what kind of parasite you are dealing with, which energy testing will not tell you, and i really doubt its a worm

Where are you located so others can suggest an LLMD in the area?

Cppoly, I'm curious why the Lyme clinic that did the energy testing isn't treating you. The practitioners I've seen who use energy testing for infections (including parasites) also do treatment themselves, including energy-based treatment. It does make sense to me that a provider who isn't trained in energy testing (and who probably doesn't believe in it) would not want to prescribe hard-hitting pharmaceuticals for something they don't believe you have.

I hear you that conventional medicine testing for parasites is extremely unreliable - I've read the same thing. It's unfortunate that we don't have better options. There are comprehensive stool tests (like through Genova) that check for fragments of ova and parasites, and are better than what a conventional MD would order, but I know those aren't foolproof, either. Do you have any gut issues indicative of parasites, or is the energy testing your main reason for suspecting they are a problem for you?

I have seen five LLMDs, and only one thought that energy testing wasn't nonsense, so I'm not at all surprised to hear that the one you are seeing doesn't want to prescribe meds based on it, but it does sound like they could have been more diplomatic in discussing their disagreement with you. While LLMDs tend to have backgrounds in integrative/functional medicine and therefore tend to be more open-minded, the ILADS guidelines (as far as I know) do not discuss many of the forms of treatment people end up trying, including energy testing, so being an LLMD isn't going to make someone likely to believe in that particular method.

Most of the LLMDs I've seen believe everyone has parasites. Everyone who has eaten an apple right from the tree, or has eaten a salad or sushi, or has swum in a lake, etc. Most of our bodies can keep them in check and not develop illness based on them, but some believe that those parasites themselves can harbor other infections, like tick-borne infections, and therefore continually re-infect us when they naturally die. Some LLMDs even treat for parasites (in a broad and routing manner not based on testing) before treating for other infections. Is this why you want to treat yourself for parasites - this idea that you have to treat parasites first?

There are many parasite treatments you can try yourself. I'll share below what I learned from a parasite webinar series in 2017, in case it's helpful. Many people self-treat for this issue, although like with any treatment, it's good to start slowly and be in touch with a supportive practitioner if possible. I hope you find someone you feel better about!

- mimosa pudica (best because it paralyzes parasites, so they can't hold on and get eliminated from your system, but without killing them, which releases their own toxin load)

Polly, if you are fortunate to have found trustworthy practitioners whose methods have resulted in symptom resolution for a great deal of their patients it seems reasonable to rely on them. Given the realm of possibilities, it is not unbelievable that your immune system may be struggling with parasites.

Saraeli thank you for this post, it was well written and informative.

The lyme clinic that I saw that energetically detected 3 parasites in me (2 protozoa + 1 blood fluke) is really not equipped to deal with parasites (they can’t write prescriptions and they only have access to a limited amount of herbals for these).

Honestly, I’m doing tons of research and Dr. Cowden’s herbal protocol is very interesting for parasites + some of my research has led me to want to try:

- Banderol + tangarana + samento goes after protozoa and helminths and biofilms.
- Proteolytic enzymes (serrapeptase, lumbrokinase, nattokinase) do a wonderful job at tearing down biofilms and fibrin making it much easier for parasite clean up. In an interview a lyme specialist mentioned that lumbrokinase is critical for babesia as well.
- Detox support to mop up all the toxins given off of parasite die-off.

I’m just so disappointed with my consult with an ILADS MD that I want to give up on trying to get an MD to write prescriptions to treat parasites. I think I need to treat this on my own.

Bryan Rosner has interesting recommendations regarding tick borne diseases and parasites.

The named antiparasitics below are a place to start.

IMHO these are the big guns in parasite treatment.

as per above - LLMD's are first and foremost medical doctors - hence the MD in the acronym

conventionally trained Medical Doctors - all go through the same 6-7 years of training in conventional medicine - so we should not expect them to be onboard with any and all alternative diagnostic methods and treatments - just because they now have LL in front.

i have not seen much - or anything at all that i can recall in the scientific literature supporting "energy testing" so i am not all surprised the LLMD you saw did not ant to treat based upon its results.

whilst its true that conventional parasite testing leaves something to be desired - this does not mean that any other method that gives a positive results is a good method.

a false positive is just as bad if not worse than a false negative - as a false positive may lead one to go down a path of unnecessary treatments - and all treatments have some degree of risk attacked.

"energy testing" is as far as i can tell right out there on the fringe of even alternative medicine.
i think it has gained traction because "practitioners" can point to numbers on a screen and say "here - look, that's what your problem is- right here - this number / spike here means you have X" - and then use that as justification for treatment - which is both something their client's want to hear - and all more business for them - but neither of these things are necessarily in the patients true interest.

i personally would not subject my body to parasite treatment protocols based on this alone

I think this is a fundamental question that goes back to whether or not a lyme doctor will treat solely based off of labs or also take into account the entire symptom history. I think we both would agree that usually both are needed to make a diagnosis.

In my case, conventional stool parasite testing will not detect the two protozoa (these live in blood) that were found through bioresonance scanning / energetic testing. So in this example, it would be impossible for me to prove to someone I have these through stool testing.

My other parasite (blood fluke) that was detected through energetic testing can be detected through stool testing but using stool testing has had a notoriously low detection rate. I've heard interviews with lyme doctors explaining that stool samples with worms visible to the naked eye were sent into labs and the results still came back negative. I’m not sure how to explain this. I don't know the exact percentage of detection, but it's not full proof. So the question would be how much money would I be willing to spend to chase after a positive result.

Either way, I’m put in a very difficult position that I have to prove an infection in order to get treatment.

i sympathise with your situation

manyt of us struggle with diagnosis for years

however it does seem to me that there is something problematic here

you seem to have already decided you have a parasite infection that is driving your symptoms - based only on energy testing - and not something else.

there is such cross over in symptoms between so many infections and other conditions i dont think this can be done on symptoms alone - or that symptoms combined with energy testing can give you a diagnosis

i agree for blood borne infections - stool tests are not likely to be effective

but what about thin blood smears - this is a traditional well established technique used to detect blood borne protozoa in humans and animals
or one of the newer PCR based tests - like Aperiomics offer

its not just the risks of treatment - but also the lost time pursuing one direction or another - which can be years ( i know i have done it)

so i do think i would be looking for confirmation by another test technology before going further down this path.

Pls stop questioning whether or not you have paras and seeking validation from unknowing MDs. Spare yourself the trauma of being treated to Drs' arrogance and dismissive attitudes, it's beating your head against a brick wall and there simply are no reliable and non-costly tests for parasites. Go with your gut.
Anyone with Lyme and cos has parasites and despite the stated disbelief of some in this thread, I believe that energetically enhanced diagnostics and therapeutics are the intelligent future and the most effective of diagnoses and treatments. Testing the autonomic nervous system (a thread of which runs through every cell in our bodies) response to stressors and treatments makes complete sense, once studied and understood.
I've tested negative for paras and yet, have exited such copious numbers and varied species of them that I know, based on personal experience, that treating paras is an integral part of recovering from any chronic illness, esp those stemming from vectors like ticks, spiders, mosquitos, fleas, etc. One must detox of heavy metal for 1-2 mos before starting para kill. I failed to and it took me 2 mos to detox out the heavy burden from para kill; they release the toxic metals that they sequester in our bodies and release them when they die.
The very best parasite treatment I've used - and I've used most every herbal and chem based treatment out there - is a simple and zero cost wild fruit: the fruit and peeled bark of the wild plum, prunus americanus, not found commercially-sourced, not anywhere . It is found throughout the woodlands and wilds of North America and right now, unless you live too far south, this is the time to harvest the green fruit.
I initially learned about plant medicines over the course of many decades from my Lakota Uncle. I harvest in a strictly traditional manner and cannot convey that in a forum. Just pls, if you harvest, leave some for the animals who seek out this plant medicine and harvest with reverence for this gift. I put down tobacco as a small part of the ceremony that I do whenever harvesting and I take only enough for my family. for the year.
The best results I've achieved from them is by leaving the green fruit in the fridge for a few weeks to ferment before placing them in a jar in the freezer to store. I use a knife as a tool for peeling small strips of the bark for the same tree(s) and dry it for a boiled bark tea to take with the fruit. I've gnawed about 2/3 of the fruit of a green, fermented plum each day for 3 in a row about 5 days before full moon and the para kill is astonishing. The bark is anti-fungal and causes the passage of candida blooms along with the paras.
If unable to obtain wild plum, there are a few other good options: green figs or papayas, a product from Biopure called Paraficus (dried green figs),;liver castor oil packs and liver compression and a GB or liver flush of simple olive oil and lemon juice will cause the exit of countless paras, incl liver flukes. I've passed paras that
look like intergalactic organisms with crab-like appendages that are almost horrifying to be the host of. The Rhizol oils from Biopure Us are very good, as is Deep Purple (has some plum in it); most any very green fruit will act to kill paras.
I didn't used to, but now make a slurry and pick out the paras to preserve in Everclear - the highest ethanol content alcohol - and once rinsed, I preserve them in glass jars in efforts to identify. I would dare any practitioner to attempt to inform me that I don't have parasites, I can show them the self-collected specimens.
Pls, just spare yourself the trauma of trying to convince any MD and simply treat yourself. I've found that para and candida treatment (I use the herbal based Biocidin for systemic fungus) are key to recovering from the vector-borne illnesses. Just do the initial metal detox and have a variety of binders on hand to mop up the die off. I use primarily chlorella in high doses (3-7 grams) 1-3 xs daily, Zeobind by the Tblespoon and Pectasol-C brand MCP for binders. Avoid using charcoal unless rarely and when very toxic because it strips vital minerals and all water soluble vitamins. Consider using Fulvic/Humic mineral drops (work slowly up to 3 drops daily) like those from Cellcore to bind the sites that toxic metals are bumped off of during treatment and recovery.

If anyone can direct me to instructions on uploading an image from desktop to this forum, I have a good pic of one type with appendages that showed in fair numbers and diff growth stages after a simple lemon and OO GB/Liver flush, castor oil liver packs and Dr K's liver compression technique.
After a bit of a search on how to upload an image to the forum, I'm pasting in the URL to one pic. It's in a square spice jar for size reference. Yuck.

And a reminder: For the best natural (or chem, imo) anti-helminthic, get out and harvest some wild green plums; now is the time if living up north in US, just ple don't make the same mistake I did and get into severe toxic overload by failing to do 1-2 mos of toxic metal detox before massive para kill.

Parasites are almost always negative and only way they test is through stool test poop test. I tried wormwood tea and ended up pooping out a huge yeast ball or parasites and whoa it really did some good. Sounds gross bt yea. If you have seizures I wouldn't recommend wormwood. You can order from AllDayChemist website no docs prescription needed.

Being as it's an herb, wormwood can be ordered from most any supplier of botanicals and so far, they haven't been able to stop us using the plant medicines. I've used it in the black walnut, clove blead tincture with pretty weak results when compared to other herbal combos and the chem-based products.

Glad you got good results but it sounds like it's time to tackle candida and parasites, such a journey!
