Mold avoidance question

My husband and I are looking and praying to get out of our current housing, which has high mold.
Remediation isn't going to be possible here, so we are looking into a low mold trailer, like the aluminum ATC toy haulers.

Those are EXPENSIVE, but we don't really have an other option. My question was: is i worth trying to get a used one? There are some 2021 used models that are much more affordable (still $$). But am I risking mold contamination from the previous owner?

Was the previous owner a mold avoider? If so, then it’s definitely possible. If it was a mold avoider, are they open to answering questions you may have? Can you check it out before buying?

I have read stories from the mold avoider websites and even remember reading some here how people would effuse toxins out of their bodies in saunas or when sweating and would make themselves sicker as they were detoxing. Reportedly, they easily contaminate bedding because of their bodies. They recommended not buying a permanent mattress until they had sufficiently detoxed.

I'm not sure about being a mold avoider; I have asked about that and waiting to see what they respond.

I wouldn't use someone else's mattress at all, for those reasons you listed.

My gut instinct says to not bother with a used one, so I'm wondering if I should move that direction.
I got the info from Corinne's about aluminum toy haulers being a great option to prevent mold buildup in trailers.

I wouldn’t discount a used model. Just make sure it hasn’t had any leaks or evidence of water stains anywhere. Used would be better than new in terms of price and off gassing of materials.

about the bedding, I didn’t mean using someone else’s bedding. I meant a mold avoider who was actively detoxing could potentially contaminate the air and surfaces of a camper through what comes out of their skin and hair, even if they brought no belongings from their contaminated environments with them. That said, the air and surfaces could be cleaned.
