Rifampin side effects?

I haven't started on rifampin yet but came across this list of side effects. The only one I'm concerned about oddly enough is change in my teeth color lol as this happened to me while on doxy. I hate how it looks like a soda or coffee stain and it never went away. Has anyone experience any of these symptoms while on rif I'm curious?

I got teeth staining from rifampin. Luckily my dentist was able to clean it off.

Rifampin also messed with my adrenal function and blood sugar, and rifampin wasn't very effective on bartonella. Atovaquone/azithromycin/minocycline worked a lot better.

Surprisingly I had very little teeth staining from minocycline.

Guess we are all different! Thanks everyone. The only abx I've really been on and off all these years was doxy. My dentist tried to scrape off the mark once and that just made it more visible. They said my tooth was very "soft". They also said it's calcification. I strongly believe it's related to lack of vit d big time no doubt. Lyme is know to block vit d and lack of vit d can damage teeth. I remember my doc told me my vit d was like untraceable in my blood plasma test, she couldn't find any that's how low it was.

Rifampin stimulates CYP3A4 production, which destroys cortisol and vitamin D and other steroids. The effect for me was salt losing, hot flashes, sleep disruption, unstable blood sugar, alternating constipation/diarrhea, and the endorphin effect (due to the pituitary response to low cortisol). Also the adrenal stress caused my homocysteine levels to be high.

The vitamin D problem is often not what you might expect. My 25(OH)D was low, but 1,25(OH)2D was normal. This condition is found not only with Lyme disease but also other chronic infections (chronic granulomatous disease). The problem isn't lack of vitamin D, but excessive conversion of vitamin D into the active 1,25-dihydroxy form. In this situation, taking vitamin D supplements can cause vitamin D toxicity.
