Filming Lyme Documentary, Hoping to find those open to being interviewed

Hi y’all,

I’ve been a member on this Lyme forum since 2017 and got pre approval a while back to post about a Lyme disease documentary that I have been filming. I myself have been through almost more than 4 years of treatment for Lyme and Coinfections, which included IV treatment.

I have been interviewing patients and doctors who are in the Lyme community. I am currently based in Atlanta, Georgia and am hoping to talk with and interview people who suffer from Lyme + Coinfections in the Atlanta area. I will also be available to film interviews in the New Jersey area over the summer.

My crew only consists of myself and sometimes my partner, so it’s a very relaxed interview style.

I’m aiming to break down the stigma around Lyme disease, address the healthcare/insurance issue (IDSA, CDC etc.) spread awareness and share peoples journeys through this documentary. This is a passion project that I hope will have a lasting impact for the Lyme community once finished.

I would definitely be interested in participating. I don’t live in the Atlanta area but I’d be willing to use zoom. I have been battling Lyme since 2008 and am a mental health therapist. I’ve had health issues since childhood and have a number of interesting/tragic stories I can tell. I’ve also witnessed the gas lighting of Lyme disease patients who were my clients. I now work as a life coach. I’d be happy to help.

Thank you for the response! Unfortunately, I’m only going to be doing in person interviews for the documentary. I would still love to chat over email if you know of anyone who you think would possibly be interested in an interview who has Lyme!

I am also going to be in the NJ area over the summer if you happen to be close to there! I’m sure I could hear plenty of insightful stories from you.

This is pretty awesome. I’ve seen a few YouTube documentaries on Lyme disease patients. Everyone seen the most popular one under your skin but there’s a few other ones to just made by average Joes with YouTube channels that are pretty good.

The fact that everyone has heard about Covid long haulers should make chronic Lyme a little more believable for the mass population.

It’s crazy that there are still doctors that believe you cannot have an infection long-term. Have they never looked at specific actual immune cells such as low immunoglobulins? That’s a perfectly good reason why this can happen.

Anyway, good luck with your project, sounds like a great idea. I’m in the Northland quite a ways from Georgia otherwise I would look you up.

Under our skin certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities a documentary can have on the Lyme community. I believe there is plenty of more that can be done through a documentary.
