Stress - related to overall health, and procrastination as a cuase

This is not directly related to tick infection, but it is related to stress and lowering your stress is one of the keys to getting well here.

Stress is also related to adrenal health and what they do when they sense stress. When your adrenals are overwhelmed you are going to feel terrible. Been there, done that, still working on some of it.

I’ve read a lot about removing stress from your life, it’s not completely 100% possible, because this is year 2023. But you can still work on it. One thing that a lot of people probably don’t think about who procrastinate, is that procrastination adds to stress in your life.

A lot of procrastination is because you might somewhat dislike the outcome of what it is you need to do instead of dealing with it head on. This is not necessarily always bad because your mind may be basing this on past bad experiences also.

I am very guilty of procrastination and trying to slowly improve it.

I needed to go up in my dark, cold winter attic and I was putting it off, I finally did it today. Keep in mind, up North attics are built completely different vs down south. you get into the attic through a hatch usually in a closet. There is no floor, insulation is all over the place and you have to put down boards across the roof beams to scoot across areas to inspect and then return to the center catwalk if you have one. It’s not fun. And it’s not something just anybody should try.

I Feel much relieved, now that I know there are no leaks above the living space. The leaks were in the overhang only, extending beyond the outside walls which was from ice dams on the roof. Having 2 feet of snow on a low slope roof can do that.

This is still not good, but way better than the worst possible outcome.

I still have to correct this, but it’s not an emergency situation and I will sleep much better tonight. This could very well be applied to many different types of procrastination situations!

(Oh and before someone asks, yes I looked for mold there is none. These older drafty homes in the Northland just don’t seem to get mold like they do down south.) When things get wet up here, they just dry out.

I think I did Watch that sometime this fall and that’s partially whats Now motivating me to get off my arse lol. Maybe I’ll watch it again tonight!

Putting things off just makes things worse, yet so many of us do this.

I do need downtime to relax and recharge but I’d probably been doing too much of that, since lyme is gone I can no longer use that as an excuse lol!

I pretty much do everything myself, so I have a backlog of projects; That does not help. I get burned out on things after a while though. But that is life when you cannot afford new things.

If I had to pay someone else to fix every little thing I would be broke (unfortunately like so many other people.).

Yes walking by faith I totally understand.

But if you’re waiting on other people to do things, or you have no control over something, be a little easier on yourself because it is not procrastination on your part then. But it is certainly hard on your mental capacity.

As far as things that I have no control over, As an example, Living in the north, I find winter can be very stressful at times, Unless one enjoys an upper class income. (By today’s standards I’m not even middle class anymore. I think I was at one time). It was 7F today and will only get to 1F tomorrow . This and colder than this is when things break, and you might not be able to fix them properly till summer. This is your home and vehicles, things you need every day. But I can usually fix them half-arse during the winter until summer arrives. Of course sometimes if it needs to be fixed correct 100% now, then I have to pay someone, which sucks. At least there’s no hurricanes way up here.

(It does seem like bad things happen three in a row it doesn’t it?)

Little things probably don’t matter much. But many little things all adding together might. And bigger things? , yes.

Too many times I’ve waited to the last minute then I’m near panic mode.
