I am about to start IVIG next week, though technically under another diagnosis. I have Lyme and Co, 10 yrs undiagnosed and have done many ABX.

Question for anyone who has seen neurologist Dr. K in CT: Does he premedicate IVIG with IV steroids? If so, how much? Or what other premeds does he use?

That’s awesome! Were you able to get the ivig covered with insurance? What diagnosis got it approved?
Did you have any improvements with all those abx?

I have no idea about dr K, but before I got contrast dye infused for a ct I took a Benadryl. I think techincally they said 30 minutes before. For mcas they sometimes say take extra h1 blockers and/or Pepcid, but I already take Pepcid and xyzal regularly, hence why I added Benadryl.

I get my ivig through dr k

The pharmacy sends the usual nsaid + Benadryl, which I think he ordered. I don’t get infusion headaches anymore so I don’t take them

He never ordered iv steroids w my infusions although we discussed it when we thought ivig hangover might be behind my arthritis (turns out it’s not and I just have autoimmune arthritis). So I don’t think he’ll prescribe the steroids unless you need them, but just a guess
