bump.
really need your help guys and gals.
main symptoms:
- severe hypersensitivity to all sounds (self isolation)
- weakness (worsens each day with each sound trigger)
anything to take to calm the nervous system? I keep reacting to everything. not sure why and what is causing it in my brain
I had scary sound sensitivity for a while. Typically things that increases gaba or reduced glutamate helped some (magnesium, gaba, taurine, chamomile, licorice, lemon balm extract and others). Things that reduced what I called brain inflammation helped too. Various peptides helped with that but I had to stop them for various reasons. All of the things I listed do other things as well so it’s difficult to find one that works. So far magnesium spray and taurine are the ones that have stuck for me.
Xyzal also made my sound sensitivity worse. Cryptolepis as well. Clindamycin made to better.
I finally sort of developed my routine for introducing stuff to my sensitive system. I put tiny amounts into water mix it up use a q tip and dab it on a thick part of my skin (like legs instead of arms). If things go well or if bad reactions decrease with repeated tests I work up slowly. Eventually I progress to putting a drop in my mouth then spitting it out. If that goes well next test I swallow and so on snd so forth.
I was where you are not long ago. I work with a doctor that dr Neil Nathan used to work with… might have been Neil Nathan’s former boss but was at least doc in same practice. I can’t say he’s solved all my problems, but he listens better than any doc I’ve had and genuinely is a good problem solving partner. I suppose what I’ve gotten most from him is new solutions to explore.
