How do your VEGF tests come out?

Haha I have so many problems worrying specifically about vegf isn’t high on my list right now. I’m in fact working with 3 neurologists right now along with 2 neurosurgeons and sundry other doctors. Hmm actually I’m not sure, one other doc that was consulted by one of my docs might also be a neurologist,… which would make it 4 neurologists. They’re working on small fiber neuropathy, a prelude to ivig and also some other stuff.

Sorry I haven’t read the entire discussion, my vision is terrible. So I don’t know if this was already said (probably was). Typically Lyme docs think bartonella causes low vegf I think. Garzie had mentioned bartonella creating something similar vegf. Anyways I’m about to get yet another scan checking out my vasculature for Eagle’s syndrome, so if it’s abysmal maybe they’ll see it.

Well, you're playing in the right ball field, as far as I'm concerned. Lol. I'd ask them - at the very least - to refer me to whatever lit is out there on low VEGF..

I'm assuming you've had brain scans. Ive had a few MRI's and they show mild atrophy, which to me would be consistent with low VEGF, but what do I know?

Geez, I'd want to talk these guys ears off, but I don't carry as much trust for the discipline as I once did. But that's my headache, not your's. Is there such a thing as medical paranoia? LOL

I’m actually about to talk to one of my cheaper neurologists today. He (gasps) takes insurance! I’ve had 4 MRI’s and 2 CT’s recently. I’m about to get a 3rd ct. I’ve had more MRI’s in the past. I have mild chiari but they think there’s craniocervical instability, which can lead to atrophy of various kinds as well as other horrifying things. Fusion surgery isn’t looking like an option though. They’re investigating Eagle’s syndrome which can cause severe circulation issues. I also have mitochondrial dysfunction and severe mcas.

Brings to my mind Jen Brea's ME/CFS journey, but maybe I'm misremembering. I do that a lot.

I have been tested several times. Below are the dates of tests, my results, the Labcorp ranges given (which were drastically changed) and the Shoemaker ranges for CIRS.

I have mold, Lyme, bartonella, etc.

Sep 2016 - 16 Labcorp (0-115)
Sep 2019 - 87 (62-707)
Aug 2020 - 125 (62-707)

Shoemaker VEGF normal range 31-86.

From Surviving Mold: “Deficiency of VEGF is quite common and is a serious problem in biotoxin illness patients that must be corrected.”

VEGF is reportedly low in mold/biotoxin illness and elevated in bartonella. My first test was done before moving out of the first moldy house. Test 2 was done 2 months after moving out of the 2nd moldy house. Test 3 was done 2 months after moving into a mold remediated but still moldy house.
