Looking for a LLMD in Nashville Tn

I moved to Western Kentucky about a year ago and have been struggling to find a Lyme doctor in the area. I’m willing to travel to the Nashville area as I did travel over three hours to see my last doctor.

I was diagnosed with Lyme and coinfections in 2015 and went through a long and painful treatment. For the most part I’ve been able to manage with the help of my doctor and a strict treatment program. Recently I’ve been struggling with my overall health. I’ve been referred to cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, and an allergist but I would really feel more comfortable if I could find a Lyme doctor again. On a side note, I’ve had several exposures to mold and would like to be tested. Any suggestions on a test? Thanks, Amy

I saw Dr. Kalb at Cool Springs Family Medicine. Let me know if you have any specific questions about that clinic.

Lyme 24 is correct about Dr. Kalb. Last year he was planning on moving to work out of Nashville, but I’m not sure if he did so.

Hi Lymie 24 and running wild, I have lyme and bart and I've been on antibiotics for 9 months already, I am thinking switching to see Dr Kalb for Dapsone therapy.. Can you please share your experience with Dr Kalb? Really appreciate your help

He treated me with success. Been symptom free going on a year. I know 2 other former patients that finished treatment(one) 3-4 years. The other 6-8years. Plus, he's a nice guy.

Did you guys have Bartonella, running wild and fjdrill? My main issue is severe brain fog and memory loss and speech problems... and I have Bart and lyme by Igenex test. And did you have to use Dapsone or just iv Rocephin was the final nail in the coffin for the spirochetes?

First I would reiterate what others have said about Dr. Kalb being a nice guy. I think that is an understatement especially when it comes to doctors. He listens to you and he cares. I've only had great experiences in our appointments. Outside of talking about health stuff I sincerely enjoyed just chatting with him. That is the only doctor I have ever had this experience with. As far as treatment goes I'm not sure if he has updated his treatment over the years. I started with him in 2017. He initially treated me with a combination of abx, herbs, and supplements. Also, he treated me with homeopathy which looking back at now seems suspect, but, perhaps he was trying to trigger a placebo effect or something. My initial treatment with him lasted about 10-11 months before I gave up due to frustration but I went back soon after.

I made significant improvement under him on Disulfiram, however, neither of us really knew what we were doing as it was new for Lyme at that point. After I went off Disulfiram I did okay for about half a year and then relapsed quickly I went back to Dr. Kalb and tried a pulsing abx plan he put together but I couldn't handle it well. After that he recommended a package of IV ozone, Vit c, Myers, glutathione treatments but I wasn't satisfied with that answer. That's when I went to the Jemsek clinic in D.C. but so far that has been a bust.

I did notice a couple of times I would mention a couple of things that were more "new" in the Lyme world and he had not heard of it. His clinic doesn't only focus on Lyme patients so his total focus isn't only on Lyme. That would be the only minor criticism I would have. He didn't get me well, but, nobody or nothing has got me well thus far.

Thanks Lymie24 for your detailed reply.. I am doing iv ozone on my own and it seems to help a bit... but like everything else in lyme, it seem to have some improvement at first but.. I seem to have plateau off already.

Hey guys, what test does Dr Kalb use with you guys? Igenex? Vibrant? or anything else.

At the end I herxed more with the disulfiram than anything else. Some treatments seemed like I was just treading water. went about 9-10 months treating Lyme before targeting Babesia. Then back on Lyme & co. After disulfiram I did have a nasty spider bite, he prescribed Doxy for. Original test was Igenex (They pulled like 17 samples of blood - got reports from other labs for blood). I did take DNA Connexions test in 01/21 - tested Negative.
I enjoyed his staff in the back-really miss the short girl that questioned you when went to the back. Finished school and moved on. My wife said that if you two were at a gathering of polite company and talked about symptoms people would think y'all were crazy. You two just chat & laugh like its normal for bones to buzz.
