ugghh… I didn't test positive for Babesia (CDC positive for lyme & Bart, though) but the bulk of my current symptoms are due to it, my LLMD and I are certain.
Mainly—
- exhaustion—and exhaustion from exhaustion!
- frequent headaches—although this is much better
- pain in feet and other weird things like really tough skin on heels but also sweaty feet. When I started taking A-Bab for babesia, my feet started to get really clammy and all of a sudden the tough skin started sloughing off and now the feet are smooth. And my hands started to peel.
- Night sweats
- painful muscles—mainly thighs and arms—makes me feel like I just ran a marathon
- complete loss of appetite
- sleep disruption
- diarrhea although it's getting much better
Did you know that Babesiosis was originally called Nantucket fever? Interesting article:
well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/30/another-tick-borne-disease-to-guard-against/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0I spent a weekend on Block island the year after I think I contracted lyme… hmm…. (and yes, there is some outdated info in the article)
