Black mold ( Stachybotrys Chantarum) result was 19.5 from Labcorp. From my readings this is considered clean. Am I correct?

I have no idea. Labcorp? What kind of test is this? The only one I am familiar with tests for mycotoxins in the urine. It’s done by Realtime Labs or Great Plains Lab.

Looks like LabCorp offers IgG tests for exposure to many specific mold species. https://www.understandingmold.com/about-mold-illness/diagnostic-testing-for-mold-toxicity/

I had not seen these tests before, but I have not looked into mold testing for a few years, so perhaps they are new. In other types of tests, only zero exposure to Stachybotrys is considered safe, but again, I do not know much about the Labcorp tests specifically.

Did you test for other species, or just Stachybotrys?

Have you had other types of mold testing, or tested your living space yet?

WalkingbyFaith, my LLMD said it is a new blood test done by Labcorp. I had to travel a bit to get to this lab.

saraeli, I was tested for 11 different molds and never had any other type of mold testing. I also have not had my homes tested. I did test very high for Candida…..darn! Maybe that is why my I am having a hard time right now. Upping my probiotics and back on the strict diet.

i would read the labcorp blurb on the test used and how its supposed to be interpreted

to me there are obvious issues with using antibody based testing for any chronic illness

the underlying premise of mold illness is that persons suffering from it are reacting to the presence of mold toxins in a way that others do not - but it is not clear to me if an antibody response would map accurately across who will be sick and not sick

as above - perhaps it is useful in the context of several different mold tests to help understand the picture - eg along with house air/dust tests and urine mold toxin tests
