Another idea, based on my own tendency to flare in the spring and fall:
Do you have any issues with mold sensitivity or allergens, or mast cell activation syndrome? In the spring and fall where I live, I am hit with a double-whammy of outdoor molds and pollen, which makes MCAS flare for me. This impacts my digestion (pain, rumbling, diarrhea), and though it doesn't usually impact my spleen, the mast cells in the spleen certainly can be activated by MCAS.
Folks in the mold world say that the symptoms of bartonella and mold toxicity can be indistinguishable, so for those of us who have both, it's easy to blame one when the other is at fault. So I don't mean to doubt your instinct that this is Bartonella-related, just offering another idea in case it's helpful.
I have, for many years, had spring allergies (tree pollen), but this year for the first time in a long time, I do not have issues. I don't know anything about
MCAS. I have suspected that mold has been a problem. We got a stronger dehumidifier for the basement & an air purifier for the basement (I am rarely down there, just to grab food from the freezer) & an air purifier for the 2nd floor. I think that has helped.
The reason I think it is bart is because I get pain in the soles of my feet & in the bones of my feet, & I am constantly hungry during a flare up. Again, I don't know anything about
MCAS, so don't know if those are similar symptoms.
So is getting rid of bart a challenge? Not a quick, easy process?
