Hello, recently diagnosed with Alpha Gal; now realize this is just part of Lyme. I would appreciate any LLMD referrals-willing to travel/telemedicine. I live in Illinois/Wisconsin area and likely contracted three years ago as an outdoor person.
As background, symptoms increased beginning four years ago, progressively worse, flares inclusive of primarily digestive and joint, as well as anemia, weight loss, and basically similar nerve pain, foot pain, poor endurance, etc. Prescribed Rifaximin for digestive flares that result in severe IBS which helps reduce the complications of digestive inflammation. Eliminating mammal based foods (all) and personal products very helpful along with careful exercise helpful, along with herbs, supplements. I cannot tolerate many foods, especially dairy, gluten. Still struggle with many symptoms, especially weight loss. I no longer tolerate alcohol well, and sugar is especially hard. Thankfully the symptoms are no longer so severe I cannot even go out, or eat at a restaurant. Knowing it is lyme is actually a blessing as my doctors were basically at a dead end, and Alpha Gal is new to many midwest GPs and even internists. I had all the vague markers (ANA titre high RH negative, bruising, joint and connective tissue issues).
PS. Thank you all in advance, the information here is so important and helpful
