I guess I’ll have to think further into it.
That hasn't helped you, thus far. So, why would it be beneficial to do even more of what isn't working?
Flip a coin, if you must. Just make a decision. Soon enough, you'll know if the choice was helpful, benign, or unhelpful.
Really, you've already made a decision, by not taking the antibiotic. But, you want to keep pushing it and hope you can get away with it. Then, if you feel things getting worse, you want to take the medication and hope it's not too late.
Reading your many posts across numerous threads is painful, because it's a reminder of my own analysis paralysis. This is the only reason I bothered to respond...it's like reading my own thoughts.
You can't tell the future, Forest. This is the ultimate issue both you and I have. We want ALL the facts, so we can make the best choice possible. But, obviously, this is impossible.
* We'll never have enough data to feel 100% comfortable, because some of what we want is unknowable.
* We'll never be able to ask enough people to gain consensus. If we did, we could ask a few more people and they would invalidate that consensus.
* We'll never be able to explain our situation in enough detail to feel like we've adequately explained our history and current situation. There's always more to tell, more qualifications, more clarifications.
* No matter what people tell us, we want to refute it. Not in a malicious way and maybe not even consciously. Like many folks here, we've read a lot. As such, we have a variety of 'facts' to invalidate every suggestion or argument.
Just make a decision and then let go. Give your mind the break it's surely craving.
Going down the rabbit hole of isolated facts and details about
genetic mutations, metabolic pathways, supplements, various other conditions you may or may not have, etc. -- the totality of this is likely causing more harm than good.
What happens in a petri dish or in rodent studies is less important, I believe, than trying things for yourself, seeing how you react, and then either doing more of it, doing less of it, or stopping it. Staying in a hyper-vigilant state while doing constant research is unhealthy, in my opinion...and, in my personal experience.
By itself, no amount of thinking will get you where you want to be. At some point, action is required.
Again, flip a coin, use a Magic 8 Ball, or roll some dice to make a decision. Whatever method you employ, just choose. No decision IS still a decision -- you're deciding NOT to do something. That's also fine, but accept it and live with it.
More facts, details, nuance, history, anecdotes, hypothetical situations, guessing, hypothesis, stories, and other such things are not needed. No one here can tell you what to do or what's right or wrong. We have enough issues trying to manage our own lives -- and we know infinitely more about
ourselves. This is all on you.
You CAN do it!
