Non-lyme ramblings. I really sincerely envy morning people,.. I am the opposite lol.

The older I get I really value my free time also because there’s less time that I have on this planet. This really sunk in on my last birthday since I’m getting closer to 60. People who don’t know me don’t realize that though, so I guess that’s a good thing, but my insides are still aging, which is something you cannot see from the outside.

So, on the subject of time being valuable, that was reminded me to this morning as I slept a lot Friday night and slept in this Saturday morning to 9:30 AM. The fact that I got a lot of sleep sounds like a good thing. But when that happens, like a lot of people that I’ve heard it just takes a long time to wake up, and I don’t like being rushed Saturday mornings, so feels like I waste part of the day away.

The sleeping in and taking my time, makes me feel kind of guilty when I think of all the time that was lost on lime to go for my life in the past. You really can’t play catch-up. It just doesn’t work that way.

So I don’t really know why am posting this lol! Other than the fact, those of you who are morning people I salute you!!

It’s really hard to change from a morning person to an early person or even vice versa. The morning people that I personally know get really really tired right after 9:00 PM so they have to go to bed then. That’s when I’m eating dinner and not even tired yet.

My regular Monday through Friday work routine I got less sleep and wake up around 7:45 - 8 am and once I get going, I feel pretty good, …..until I have the opportunity to sleep in , which again sounds like that’s a good idea, but I feel like crap the next morning. I always wondered why that is.

(I guess I’m also procrastinating the stuff I should be starting on by just posting this ridiculous post! At least I know myself well….ha ha)

Well, when you're a morning person, you just get super short on sleep cause you're out late with non morning people or you're thinking you can eat at 9pm like they do and go to bed at 12 and still wake up at 5:30 am.
But waking up isn't the problem. I would get up at 5:30, do stuff go to class at 8, and around 11am I would be literally falling asleep. Its not fun.

Never been a morning person. I remember years ago someone said Lyme people should be in bed by 10 pm and should not get up before 7 am. I don’t know if that was part of the old Burrascano guidelines or what, but it sounded reasonable to me.

Since I stopped working, mornings are not as bad, but I’m still slow and absolutely can’t handle being rushed in the mornings. Some mornings I do wake up feeling pretty good and ready to do something. That’s how I was last Saturday. I woke up around 8, realized it was fairly cool, and decided to get dressed quickly and cut the grass.

Astro, I always enjoy and appreciate your Lyme and non-Lyme posts. The more I learn about you, the more I think we were separated at birth! We're similar in age, we're not morning people, we tend to do some of our best work at night, and we appreciate nature and simple living. (Honorable mention: Tiki torches, Hawaiian music)

Two unfortunate (for me) differences are that I did not retain most of my hair and I very much look my age! In fact, regarding the latter, I just got copies of my sleep medicine consult back in 2016. In it, the doctor stated that I appeared older than my age. I'm not sure if that's related to my terrible sleep or he just felt like insulting me.

I have a job that I can just pick up shifts here and there.
There are two shifts in the facility:

9 am to 2 pm

OR

2:00 pm to 7:00 pm

I take the 2-7 shifts only.

I don’t wanna get up at 7:30 am to do the earlier shifts.

BUT if I don’t do any earlier shifts soon - I will not know the routine and it will be very stressful as the routines change now and then.
So i need to make a decision soon - just keep picking up the 2:00-7:00 shifts or pick up a 9-2:00 shift soon

I never liked mornings before all this started 20 years ago, but now I miss seeing it. When I was better for a number of years, I could get up and go to cross country meets, travel late to get there and be fine.

Now, if I don’t go to bed by 10:00 pm or 10:30 and get up before 8:00 am, I’m trashed for a day or so.

Missing so much of life because of this sheite. Travel. Fun times. Seeing more people and about to lose coaching because of how I feel.
