Diarrhea evrey 30 minutes for two days

The usual suspect for severe diarrhea is bartonella.

If she's getting endometriosis, there might be some hormonal disruption from Lyme or another infection. HPA dysfunction or cortisol levels can also cause alternating constipation and diarrhea.

it does sound like a stomach bug is the most likely explanation

its should pass in a few days

the reason they tell you not to take anti-diarrheal drugs like Imodium is the diarrhoea is the bodies way of trying to flush the unwanted virus / bacteria out

if its viral - Buhner recommends teas from strong tannin plants - he likes blackberry root - as this high tannin content helps bind viral particles and helps the body eject them - not sure how other binders would work - possibly something like activated charcoal might do a similar job

main thing is to take lots of liquids and teas and stuff for electrolytes to try to avoid dehydration

This time of year, I usually end up having a serious diarrhea episode from a combination of high-histamine and high-FODMAP foods that are in season right now. Has she eaten a lot of fruit, fermented foods, or anything else that could have irritated her gut?

That said, it doesn't happen to me every 30 minutes for two days! That sounds like norovirus or E. coli to me. I'd also suspect C. diff if she's taking pharmaceutical antibiotics.

Do what you can to help her stay hydrated, including electrolytes, and don't hesitate to get her IV fluids if she can't keep anything down. She must be so exhausted!

Have you guys ever dealt with uncontrollable diarrhea? Im hoping that its a stomach bug and will pass. My girlfriend went to the er yesterday and was given IV fluids for hydration and an antinausea medication. She hasn't eaten anything in over 24 hours. The second she eats or drinks she has to go to the bathroom. She had abdominal pain but thankfully that has passed.

The ER guy advised her not to take an antidiarrheal under the assumption that this is just a stomach bug.

Im worried that it could be lyme related. Have you guys ever had any experience with this?

We don't think she ate any bad food. She did administer a water enema the day before symptoms onset but shes good about cleaning the equipment.

Could this be a symptom of endometriosis? She has always waffled between diarrhea and constipation, had bad bloating after food, had painful sex, had lower back pain that sometimes radiates into her legs. But what she has now is very similar to food sickness symptoms.

I've had it multiple times. Look in Giardiasis infection in the gut from contaminated food or tap water. I even got it from Taco Bell once . A little metronidazole cured it. The diareah was explosive, watery and smelled foul. Sorry for the TMI but usually if we have a poop emergency you'll be lucky enough to clench your cheeks and run to a toilet and make it . With Giardia infection, there's no clenching , before you know it, it come on suddenly and you won't even feel yourself having the urge to go. Next thing you know you made need a change of clothes, sorry for the TMI again, I figured it would make someone laugh if they can only relate lol. Now that I've been on abx a month and half, I've become super sensitive to carbs, pastas, bread , red meats even more than before treatment. My stool is still diareah , cramping, and floating stools that are like foamy or bubbly . It's insane. I would say definitely take some metronidazole and it should work , if so you'll know it's like Giardia as it causes the symptoms you're explaining. Also if the diareah is on the yellowish side and coming out like explosive water, that's a tell tale sign. I couldn't even hold down drinking water without making me run to the nearest toilet. My obgyn is the one who didnt test me for this but he obviously knew the symptoms of it while i was pregnant and quickly prescribed the abx for it.Hope this helps.

I had diarrhea after meals for a very long time.
I do remember having an episode - I must have been 4 or 5 years old.
I soiled my underwear and felt so ashamed.
It continued on through my life and man was it awful.

I recall going to a concert in the big city with a friend and I didn’t eat for two days because I didn’t want to have to run to the bathroom.

I often wonder if the cause Bartonella. I grew up with many cats (and scratches)

One day it just stopped.

I can relate. My 6 yr old urinates during sleep a lot and during the day bt also started soiling himself . I'm thinking like wth gives? He knows how to use the bathroom bt is suspected lyme and Bart. I also had an accident 5 yrs old and remembered being so embarrassed that I stayed like that throughout class because I was so shy and scared. How nobody noticed was beyond me. I also wouldn't eat all day especially if I had an appointment or was going out to the supermarket . Never know when it's going to happen .My most humiliating moment was standing on the front porch , talking to my sons father and his brother, and all of a sudden I soiled myself while standing there and we all laughed . I laughed with them even though I was totally mortified.Amd then I cried. It was too late because they already saw the little mess I made and it was so embarrassing. We had to take soap and hot water and spray the cement. This was all while on abx and my bladder and other muscles had all become so weak that accident were the new norm for me. I lost control of my bowels and bladder and I do think the abx plus the lyme and Bart make the muscles weak , too weak when we need them to be strong to control our bowels and bodily functions if you know what i mean. Sorry to rant and rave and for the TMI. Just wanted to see if anyone could relate to these humiliating issues.

In terms of endometriosis, I'd say yes, there's a possible link. There also can be a link with compressed discs in her lower back. Unfortunately my mother experienced frequent, urgent diarrhea from both of these causes because they can press on the nerves that impact digestion. Has your girlfriend had an MRI of her lower spine? How's it going with the physical therapist?
