Excessive mucus production

I had this. I was literally drowning in mucus. A pulmonary PA was convinced I had “silent reflux.” Had an endoscopy with camera and was told I had no reflux. Got an ENT to Rx Nexium and Zantac, which I took for 6 months. Those stopped the mucus. I stopped at the urging of a functional medicine chiropractor and weaned off carefully over a period of weeks. This was all before I learned I was dealing with Lyme and Mold. Thankfully, the mucus only came back slightly after stopping the meds.

It's been around for a long while now and it's always forming in my throat and chest with a cough I've had since covid like 3 years ago. It's insane. When I treat it flares and the cough does as well, it does die down a bit when I take breaks. Also constantly feel dehydrated but my labs are fine. I don't know if it's some kid of post covid immune response or if there is something else going on. It's super annoying and also seems to happen with swelling of my glands and then trouble swallowing too.

Your post reminded that I also went to an ENT - pre diagnosis I had the sensation of a lump in my throat.
The ENT put a tube with a camera through my nose, and down my throat to see what was happening.
He didn’t see anything.

That does sound very much like larynopharyngeal reflux (LPR), Derek.

That sounds like something my husband has…And it seemed to happen right after he had Covaflu (two years ago).

He also noticed there are certain “triggers” such as when he eats too many sweets…

And the “cough” is So irritating…he’s So tired of coughing & I feel bad for him.
