testing is a complex subject

the basic issue is that all tests available today have issues with sensitivity - and to a lesser extent specificity

as a result its expected that test results will not always agree between tests
( for example a false negative on one and a true positive on another )

Igenex have a good reputation - but their tests are not perfect - not because they are doing anything wrong per se - more that these are the limits of the available test technologies they are using. this applies to all test houses.

vibrant wellness is much less quantified in terms of published validation studies or reputation - so that adds another layer of grey.

serologic testing for these infections is generally quite poor in terms of any black and white interpretation

PCR - being a more modern technology and a direct detection method - one would think would be more sensitive - but it turns out that - while the technology itself is good - in chronic disease the samples simply often do not contain any / enough target DNA - or the DNA is distributed in an uneven manner in the blood - such that it is not in the tiny sample the machine uses - so in those cases the patient can be infected - but the test is correctly reporting no target DNA in the sample.
(if this sounds improbable - see the slides in my microscopy thread where you can clearly see very rare but well defined clumps of bartonella infected cells - and large areas of completely clear cells).

However, there does tend to be an asymmetry between the sensitivity ( high chance of false negatives) and specificity ( comparatively lower chance of false positives ) so instead - i would take any of the positive results as increasing the likelihood of those infections being present.
with perhaps a little less emphasis on those from vibrant - as its hard to quantify the quality of their results.

i would be wary of assuming fever means TBRF - as pretty much all of the tick born infections can cause fever in the initial stages - lyme, bart, babesia, rickettsia, anaplasma, erhlichia etc etc - and presumably they can also do this during a new infection occurring on top of other prior infections.

in your position i think i would treat for the three B's which should cover all the bases

I've had Bart, Babesia and Borreliosis for a decade, and recently got bit by multiple ticks and came down several months ago with a 10 day 103 relapsing fever. I tested two of the three ticks which came back positive for Babesia Odocoilei but nothing else. I assume it was relapsing fever due to my symptoms, however.

IGENEX (Babesia Microti/Ducani and other strains [nobody tests for Odocoilei])

PCR: negative for everything

IGENEX (B. BURGDORFERI):

This is where I'm confused. Vibrant Wellness test tells a different story (see photos). The test probably isn't as good as IGeneX. I did not test positive for Babesia or TBRF strains but did test positive for Lyme, which was negative on IGENEX.

Whoa buddy this real interesting, lots of good stuff here lol. Are those all the different strains of lyme you came back positive for? I came bk positive for rickettsia not typhi kind, and lyme borellia ,and Bart. Babs has yet to be found out . Coxsackie virus may be a previous infection, wonder if it can get reactivated like herpes virus etc.? Parvavirus, is that current have it? Any symptoms?
