Thanks for great information, WBF. Read the link then looked up ore on BPC-157.

More I read, the better this peptide seems. If it does all that has been written about it, I can’t figure out why it’s not utilized more.

Based on different studies, it, supposedly, helps heal gut, as mentioned nerve and muscles, us an anti-inflammatory, lowers blood pressure immune modulator, lowers cytokines and helps regulate t-cells.

Also, it’s safe for kidneys and other organs, helps autoimmune and more. Can be injected by a doctor or taken by pill with injection (ans mentioned in WBF’link).apparently, with injection more effect (and more costly).

Also brain improvement and anti-bacterial action on another site.

Am I missing something? There are so many positives about BPC-157.

While I could find studies on rodents, couldn’t find any on humans. That was the one downside I saw in it.

With so many positives, I’m confused on why it’s not mentioned or utilized more.

Astroman - We have the same train of thought on this, as you mentioned.

There are so many positive studies (not on humans) concerning BPC. There are a great number of positive effects reported, included helping kidney and other diseases. But when you break it down, there are 15 amino acids in BPC. The list is: Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. The names of them are glycine, glutonic acid, proline, lysine,leucine, aspartic, alpha liopic, valine. Not sure what the formulation of multiple repeats Pro and Asp mean.

Once you dig deeper into this, you find some of those amino acids are not good for kidney disease, despite some glowing reviews about how it improves that disease. I look hard at that because of my kidney situation.

My point of that is most I have read have indicated BPC-157 is good for kidney disease. Then you break down each individual amino acid and find some of them are not. Lysine is just one great example.

I'm not trying to go after or be negative about BPC, but the overwhelming positives coming out about it deserve much more attention to determine if trying it is even reasonable for someone. I think it's great information WBF put out there with the post, as anything that might help is worth looking at and discussing.

After a deeper look into it, my hope has gone from very high to much lower because of the impact it can have on the kidneys. But some of the of the listed peptides get good reviews for kidneys while others get a thumbs down.

Positive is it may still be a great try for someone without the kidney issue. WE all have different issues to deal with that Lyme creates.

Bottom line is we must be vigilant in researching whatever we read to be safe. Again, it is awesome WBF posted it for conversation. Maybe someone else will have other information that will be helpful.

You answered a question I couldn’t find the answer to about how much of an amino acid dose in the BOC. Thanks for that.

At this point, it may be wortth giving it a try. It’s also okay for autoimmune as is is supposed to help with inflammation/cytokines.

I just googled " Anhedonia from BPC-157". Reddit mentions this, and other places too.

Anhedonia is new word for my vocabulary,..and:

The only time I was talked into trying an anti-depressent, (zoloft?,..a good ten years before treating tick infections), my symptoms changed to...what seems to be very similar to "anhedononia".

My "slap-stick" in person and smart arse sense of humor turned into a long lasting “lull”. Sloth-like slow reaction time. It was weird...and not in a good way. No desire to get out of bed. I didnt laugh in two months. People at work actually noticed!!

Never used it again and I went back to my "lyme brain" baseline. Then after Lyme ABX, my whole mental state improved a lot.

I’ve used both oral and injectable BPC-157 in consecutive cycles- for a combined total of 3months. The oral form was actually most notable for lasting improvement. It ‘cured’ my GI discomfort and vomiting rapidly, and several months later I’m still in remission of those symptoms. The injectable form seemed to stir up Bartonella in the first week which is not surprising given its impact on the VEGF pathway… after a bit of die off symptoms , I didn’t experience symptoms I attribute to Bartonella (tremors). I found the injection to help w my neuropathy, but this this didn’t get me to full remission, I still get some sensations but at a far less intensity.

I’d do it again and plan to in a few months.

I didn’t experience any anhedonia, but I’m treated for my mental health symptoms.
