Is anyone taking citrulline? What benefits have you gotten? Is there any negative side effects from it?
I have heartpalpitations during herx (and also other heart symptoms) and read a person getting help from citrulline so that is why I try to learn more about
it.

citrulline can "sway" the thyroid gland in a hypo (slow) direction. Since I have Hashimoto (already hypo) , I never used cit.
When I had heart palps, I used magnesium glycinate. - BUT it can't be used within 2 -3 hrs of Rx medication, as mag is kind of a "sponge" to some (all?) Rx meds..
Luckily, my palps were usually in late afternoon, so I scheduled above info with it.

@astroman
That was really good to know about
citrulline affecting the thyroid! I didn't know that! My thyroid hormones are close to the lower reference so maybe I should be careful with that...
Also I didn't know about
magnesium having to be taken separated from meds! I definitely will thing about
h that when taking it. Thank you!

Yes there are many supplements that can unfortunately interfere with thyroid function, most hypo but some hyper...so its best to google supps before trying.

FYI about
Magnessium- remember the versions that end in "ate" absorb the best (cost more too), which also means they relax you to some extent and might make you sleepy. That is why most most people take it b4 bed (if they are not also taking a Rx b4 bed).
I take the Mag glycinate version before bed (to help sleep) now since I dont take any Rx around that time.
Even though the mag malate also absorbs well, for some reason it doesnt make me sleepy, so in my case, that was best to take during the day time.
The orotate and citrate mag versions are probably similar to malate, all are less sleepy than glycinate.
there is one more newer marketed type of mag (more absorb-able than glycinate), quite expensive that ive never tried,...I forget the type/version. That is now the best for sleep I guess. Scary price tag lol!
The cheap mags (like grocery store brands) dont end in "ate" and dont absorb into the blood stream..... and are basically a laxitive.

? I have seen it but never knew its benefits.
Thank you for the information!
