It is very interesting to hear how different we all are, for example on my personal journey one of the best things I was ever told is 'find the people who have the same things wrong with them as you do, find the ones who got better and try out what they did to see if it works for you'.
This advise got me from being totally bed bound and given 6 months to live to being able to function semi normally and live semi independently which was quite frankly a miracle in many people eyes around me including the health care professionals.
So for when we talk about
'evidence' - for me evidence is whether someone improved or not from doing a treatment modality. And that could be from placebo, I don't care, as long myself and others feel better that's all I care about
. That's what I'm looking for. I'm not interested in following 'science' or 'research studies' as 'evidence'.
Now I was in an extremely fortunate position where I had access to a large sum of funds so I didn't have really any limitations financially.
These funds were suddenly cut completely where I had to stop all access to medical care and I had a relapse the last couple of years. Hence why I'm on these forums trying to find things to help within my budget.
I also had a fortunate experience because I had social media accounts dedicated to these kind of health conditions with 25,000 followers who had the same health conditions as me. On a daily basis I would receive a lot of information from these people on things that had helped them or not... I could then use this information to work out percentages of people who were helped by different things and see trends amongst it. 25,000 people is obviously a small number but it was very helpful and influential as I was gathering my kind of 'evidence' which then influenced my decisions on treatments which in turn helped me recover. (My social media accounts are closed down the last couple of years so you can no longer find them.)
