What is this symptom called? I don't think it's pulsatile tinnitus

I need a name for this symptom LOL. All along I thought it was pulsatile tinnitus. I don't think it is. No "wooshing" sound. Basically when I'm lying on my left side I can hear my heart beat, it's that loud. And I can feel it. No palpitations, it's just beating so loud that I can hear and feel it when lying down. I am sure there is a name for it, I need to know so I can add it to my list and use the proper terminology for when Dr's ask me.

I have this too where I can hear my heart beat if there is something pressing against it like a pillow or ear plug but I wouldn’t consider it a ‘symptom’ like it doesn’t make me feel ill or impact my life negatively I thought it was just part of being human?

i have exactly this too

gets worse / louder when i am herxing

i spoke to a conventional doctor about it - expecting him to scoff at it - but he said he has the same thing - and that it is in fact quite common in the general population

that's doesn't mean its normal though - and i definitely didn't have it before i got ill with Lyme - so for me is definitely a lyme symptom

Garzie I agree. I don't think it's normal either and I certainly didn't have it before I got ill. Wow you're lucky that you weren't gaslit by that dr. I'm too scared to bring it up to any medical practitioner because I think I'll get dismissed. I have to disagree with that doctor that it is common. I don't think it is. I noticed that when it's worse, I experience shortness of breath and i'm exhausted from lying on my left side. Only when I change positions do I feel better. It's quite a bothersome symptom.

I had pulsatile tinnitus.

I had the swooshing plus hearing my heart beating loud when my ear was on the pillow.

I had a look and what you describe sounds like pulsatile tinnitus just without the whooshing sound, so maybe have a look whether you can still have pulsatile tinnitus without the whooshing!
