Hi all! It's been a while since I've been on here but I need some advice for adjusting my protocol. I started treatment Feb 2023 with:
Minocycline, 100mg 3X per WEEK
Methylene Blue, 100 mg per day
Artemesinin, 50 mg 3X per day
Last Feb, after a lot of pushing for a stronger/different protocol, I finally got my doc to put me on a new abx. She gave me metronidazole (500mg pulsing 3 days on, 4 days off) and fluconazole (200mg once a week) in addition to everything else.
Here are my concerns with my current protocol; the minocycline is way under the recommended dose for lyme, the metronidazole could be carcinogenic, and she is not treating any coinfections even though I have symptoms of bartonella and possibly one of the pneumonias. So now I'm trying to put together my own protocol because I'm done waiting for my doctor to stop playing around with my health.
My most obvious move is to increase the minocycline, but I'm wondering if since I've been on it for over a year switching to doxy would be good for avoiding resistance issues?
As for metro, someone recommended I replace it with tinidazole since that's potentially safer. I'm really not sure what to do in that area.
And finally, I need to add herbs/drugs to hit bartonella and the chronic pneumonias. I'm going to be doing some research on these, but if anyone has suggestions that would be amazing.
That’s a really “light” protocol.
I would add Rifabutin to target Bartonella.
Of course - run it by your dr.
BTW - is your dr Lyme literate?
