I am posting my test results here in hope someone can tell me if they say I have Lyme disease or not. I had one Dr say yes and another say no ...here are my results..Any feed back would be appreciated :0)

It looks like you have Lyme disease. Your IgM has positive response on Bands 23 (lyme specific) and 41.

I'm assuming you have symptoms - which is why you tested?

You should look for a LLMD and schedule an appointment. We can help you find one - just start a new thread titled: "Looking for LLMD in/near_____" and fill in the blank.

Girlie gave you some great advice.

When I first found out I had lyme I had a lot of questions and boy was this place great for answers.

Lisa - it would be helpful for you to take a look at the thread at the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?..Start here!" It's packed full of good information - symptom lists, info on probiotics, detoxing suggestions.

Starting a good detox regimen is a something you should consider right away. When the bacteria from the infections dies off (either from treatment, or it's life-cycle) - it produces toxins that flood your body, causing symptoms (herxheimer reaction). If you do effective detoxing - this will help to lessen the severity of these symptoms. Effective detoxing involves multiple methods on a daily basis.

wow thanks everyone. Yes I have been real sick since last August and my DR refused to check for Lyme even though I had a "target "looking bite . I was lethargic and could not use either of my arms. They were too weak and painful to move. Finally in January he tested me and said oh look you have Lyme Disease. He sent me to an Infectious disease DR who said according to the CDC I could not have Lyme because it is not endemic to Texas. She said even if test came up positive they would not treat me because it could not possibly be Lyme Disease....I was in awe at her response. My original DR gave me 28 days of meds and I felt a little better but after a few weeks I feel like it's coming back. I have been so frustrated and I saw an earlier post where people offered to read tests ....so I posted here. Again thank you I was thinking of paying out of pocket to go see a specialist :0(

Yes - please see a specialist - a Lyme Literate Dr. - otherwise you won't get proper treatment.

Lyme is everywhere - all States - including Texas...I just can't believe the ignorance of some of these Doctors.

Thanks :0) It has been hard. I had an appointment today for another issue and the DRs refuse to acknowledge these tests results. They say it does not show Lyme.

The WILLFUL ignorance of these "doctors" is criminal.

Lisa - you've already received good input here. I don't know where you are but I know of an MD in Dallas who used to be a general practitioner but his wife contract lyme and of course, he now specializes in lyme. Email me if you'd like contact info.

It's great that you found this site. There is a lot to navigate, unfortunately, but you'll find great resources here. Your best bet is to learn as much as you can before your first LLMD appt - the "New to lyme?" thread Girlie suggested is essential information.

Thanks P! I am in the San Antonio area. I am in the process of changing my DR. I figure I need to go to one that will investigate things. Thanks to everyone who commented :0) I am slowly looking through all the info. I am glad I found ya'll :0)

Wow.......this is super-scary the attitude that many Dr's are taking. Two people just down the road from me had the exact same symptoms that you did, right down to the rash. They were given 2-weeks of low dose Doxy and declared "cured"........and stonewalled after that. Needless to say, they are sick again.......

Yep. This post is dated 8 years ago, but still relevant today.

That was my story 35 years ago (large bullseye, lethargic, nerve pain all over, ignored by Drs; it ruined my life)

A guy down my road was also treated, but only for 2 weeks a few years ago. Later on (now) he feels terrible.

Tests have been Shown to be highly inaccurate resulting in false positives, and even more Common: false negatives.

The CDC criteria is way to strict and Not even used in every country.

Based on your Tests you definitly Had contact with lyme.

The best approach I think personally, is to See how you respond to treatments.
