Yes, because I was supplementing magnesium but no other electrolytes, and not eating much, the ASG increased my potassium above where it should have been, causing my heart rhythm issue. This is what I was told, though I didn't see my test results myself. (I can rant about that ER all day....) My understanding is that electrolytes need to be in a certain proportion to one another, and that happens fine when a normal diet is being consumed, but unfortunately because of MCAS and gastroparesis my diet was far from normal at the time! Plus I was extra sensitive to low relative sodium specifically, due to POTS.
